It's definitely about kicking something to the curb. Open-ended just like others have said, but there's definitely this bitter-sweet vibe to it. Ultimately, the person moves on, but still wonders about if it/they stayed around in their life. And yeah, it sounds awesome. Heard this single on the radio one day and I knew I wanted more. I bought the album and glad I did. Worth every penny. Great mix of talent here. Hope they make it out to my area someday for a show. :) |

It's about repenting for past sins or regrets. I don't think every song AB makes is about hard-edged Christianity. Everyone has feelings that this band describes. |

"I'm ready, but I'm wrong And I'm blind to it all" I think it (spiritually) means that he is admitting he is not worthy of God's grace, or that he is humbled before him...probably a good thing. He is ready to love instead of take the easy way and hate. He is blind to the ways of God. He can understand him, but there is always a side that will be susceptible to hate. |

Definitely about an addiction, no doubt about it. Here, it is materialized by actual drinking and drugs. "And whatever takes us away Will be the same to drive us on" --This can be positive or negative, depending on how you look at it. Whatever destroys you, you can use as a crutch to get you through life...meaning that you can be become so dependent on something that it's the only way to carry on. -Or....You can turn it around and the thing that almost killed you...you will now kill it. Your mastery of your addiction will "drive you on". "Remember to find a new way A way to see it all It's finally slipping away And soon it will be gone Remember to find a new day Remember to carry on" --I think this is about finally coming to terms with an addiction and kicking it to the curb. And when it's all said and done...you have to carry on and not repeat your mistakes...or else. |

Awesome song! Really sounds good and motivates me. If you want to get official info. and lyrics, they have it all at www.no-games.com Here's my take on it: The line that really drives home to me is "Fire your guns, it's time to run, blow me away!" I have read the Halo novels and love the games and BB as well. What a lot of people don't know is that there were about 30+ Spartans just like the Chief. They all were supersoldiers just like him. They all endured pre-pubescent surgical operations in which many of the children died and more were injured. About 30 or so survived and went on to kick monumental a$$. Some of the enhancements were titanium-ceramic graftings to the bones, optical rod and cone enhancements, neuro-kinetic enhancements, and super-dense protein injections directly into the muscles. Since they were human and had subtle differences from eachother, they all had their own unique abilities. For instance, there was a Spartan named Kelly. She was ridiculously fast in reaction time and in running. Linda was a surgeon with the sniper rifle. Sam was the biggest and Strongest. John, the Master Chief, was a natural born leader, and an all-around expert, and the luckiest. Some were adpet in zero-gee environments and so on.. So, what all that means to me: "Blow me Away" means that he is giving the orders to fire your guns, it's time to run and "Blow me away" with your abilities to save the day because one man can't win the war alone. "I will stay in the mess I made" means that he will be first in and last out to ensure that his team and in his case, humankind will have a fighting chance, like a courageous leader would do. "They fall in line, one at a time, ready to play." I think that address his squad. His Spartans fall in line, one at a time, ready to kick some serious arse. "I can't see them anyway" It means that his Spartans have reflective faceplates and you can't see them or their facial expressions. "After the fall, we'll shake it off, how me the way." I think the underlying meaning is the Fall of Reach, their biggest and last defense that is between the Covenant and Earth. It was a planet belonging primarily to the UNSC which was the last stronghold for Humankind. The Covenant overwhelmed the planet and eventually took it over. So, it could mean that after the Fall of Reach, we'll shake it off, show me the way, meaning he wants his teammates to help him and eachother to cope or keep on moving after it seems all is lost. |
