Well I like the comment that swissarmloveofair made, yeah love is one of the most beautiful human expressions and feelings but when you fall in love with the wrong person it can be so painfull and suffering sometimes is unbearable, this song, i think, is when you are in a bad time of relation (maybe ur loved one doesn't even know you like him/her), and anything that you do can be decisive in your future with that person (one breath, one step could knock it all down), this is definitelly one of the best Thursday songs, besides Cross Out The Eyes. |

I don't think this song is about drugs, the fact that he mentions a needle doesn't need to mean drugs or heroin, sometimes any sharp object is usefull to make a wound, I tell you that as a cutter i am and sometimes anxiety is stronger than reason. This song is definitelly an expression of the human fragility against it's condition of existence and Trent has that depression and feeling that really makes you feel what he's feeling and trying to express. |

Amazing song, I have not heard all Thursday material but I downloaded this song because i loved the lyrics, the best part is the scream in the middle of the chorus ''When you leave, you leave nothing but broken hearts'', so powerful, and this song for me is about when you fall in love with the wrong person and he/she leaves you (for any reason) and you are remembering all times you had with him/her. Beautiful song, Thursday rocks. |

There are some AFI songs that can have a lot of different points of view and definitely this is one of them, personaly, in the situation I am rite now, I would say it's about when you love someone but you know that someone is never gonna be yours, it's an imposible one, but you still loving even you know he/she is never gonna even know you are dying for them (Nothing is all we own) and the dying days are the moments of suffering for that person. Another point of view could be a familiar one, probably you quit the hipocrecy in your family to search something better but you're lost with nothing. |

I don't think the tittle has any relation with the song, but here's my interpretation. I think this song is about when you are trying to do something you really beleive in but no one supports you, instead, your family or your friends are pushing you down, laughing everytime you try to acomplish your goals and ingoring you when u give a step... definitely one of the best AFI songs and the music is really touching, the backing vocals by Dexter are amazing, and of course, Davey's voice gives that emotional thing ... ok, now im gonna cut my veins... c ya in hell kids. |

Well, from my very personal point of view, I doubt this song is about Satan I don't think Davey would ever do a song of this kind about Satan (but I might be wrong), anyway I think this song is about someone that really has hopes and dreams (Am I the star beneath the stairs), that maybe he/she feels invisible (am I the ghost upon the stage) and the he/she is searching for his/her true love /am I your anything), and finally he/she really wants to trust someone and wants to be trusted by someone (would you beleive in me tonight).

The first time I heard the song I was really depressed and sad, and when it finished I ran to search for the lyrics, I think Davey is trying to express how a person feels when:
*It's life has no sense
*When he/she doesn't know what to do (I cannot leave here I cannot stay)
*When it's life is hopeless (forever haunted more that afraid)
*When he/ she doesn't know hot to express him/herself (asphyxiate on words i would say)
*And when depression seems to kill him/her (I'm drowned to a blackened sky as I turn blue)
It although tells that very deep inside of you there is some happines but you cannot express it 'cause it's drowned by you depression (I'd show a smile but I'm too weak)
It speaks when you want to talk to someone but you don't know how to express yourself (I'd share with you could I only speak just how much this hurts me)
And finally it shows that he/she feels like no one's there to help (no one will appear here and make me real).
