well pulseox, i know how you feel about the ataris, but its not actually how it goes.
Kris (songwriter) actually meant that the radio sucks. He's sick of hearing the same thing over and over again and 311 were on the radio back then alot. the lyrics weren't saying like "damn i hate 311 because they are famous blah blah" it was saying how back then their songs were being overplayyed on the radio. Well Kris wrote that song a while back, so he never really knew 311. Kris once told us that he was sorry for using those lyrics because he met 311 back at warped tour in 2001 and said they were really nice guys and awesome and stuff. |

To all the people who think the ataris are "selling out" i'd like to know the definition of selling out. Isn't as a songwriter and a band, your goal to be successful? Yeah im aware of the fact that they did change from kung fu to columbia, but it actually was for a broader audience. oh just beacuse their on MTV does not mean they sold out. they are still the same people. they still let a person play the guitar with them at EVERY show, they opened their own store and work there regularly when not on tour so you could just drop by, they even record their own songs there so you could just watch them and hang out with them, AND when you write letters to them they still handwrite all their letters back thanking them, so next time you call a band "sold out" try to think of what that term means. because ataris are still the same people so shut the fuck up. |

i believe this song is about kris's grandmother who passed away AND also about their parents splitting. i think that it was written when they split up, and got back together. not too sure though. |
