If you've ever done LSD or seen someone on it, it's easier to understand this song. It's easy to have a bad trip or start freaking out, and a simple childish tune that repeats over and over again can calm you down.
The beauty of this song is in how many different ways there are to interpret it. Everybody gets something different out of it depending on who they are. I think that alone makes it a good song. |

Like everyone has pretty much said, I think this song is a bunch of lines from his poetry strung together. I think he did it because he hated how people read too much into his songs, and he knew people would do it with this one too. If you read each line, they do have meaning, but I think overall the song is just randomness. |

This song is about how people just follow what society tells them. "I don't care if I'm sold" is talking about how people will do anything for money. "I don't have a mind" is how people just mindlessly wander around, not thinking for themselves. "Get away from your home" is saying that people should do something different from everybody else, and not just make a family to go home to every night. "I'm afraid of a ghost" is making fun of how people will just believe whatever you tell them. "Even if you have/Even if you need/I don't mean to stare/We don't have to breed/We can plant a house/We can build a tree/I don't even care/We can have all three" is basically saying even though people feel like they have to/need to just grow up and have a family, they don't have to. Instead of the usual expected things, you can "plant a house" or "build a tree". Kurt was against people having so many kids. That's my spin on it anyway. I'm sure there are other ways to interpret it. |

I heard from somewhere or other that the chorus was originally "I would bleed I would die, I believe I will die," and that they changed the song for American audiences. If that is the case, that would make it a song about suicide. |

I think it's simply about using your talents to make a difference. Incubus is using their words to try and invoke change in society. |

The first thing you should know about this song is the title. A flock of crows is called a "murder." So if you are a "crow left of the murder" you are the one that doesn't fly with the flock. Meaning, you are living your life for yourself instead of just following society. |

First of all, this is not a political song, but even if it was, Incubus has the right to say whatever they want to say, so all of you that say they should stay out of it haven't heard of a little thing called 'the freedom of speech." But what I think this song is about, is the brainwashing effects of tv, and how people praise the movie stars on tv. Hence "the foundation is canyoning, fault lines should be worn with pride." You call someone a sheep when they follow just whatever everyone else does, so an electric sheep would be someone who doesn't think for themselves, and just follows the crowd. All in all, the song is telling us to open our eyes and think for ourselves, or we are going to end up in a country that is no different from the society in George Orwell's "1984". |
