| Lol, in addition to my last message, I want to say this. It was getting late, you see, and I didn't exactly know what I was saying :) The last sentence. I mean: you'll know the difference between a lovesong and a dangerous song. | |
| The Police – Every Breath You Take Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Well I don't think the meaning is in the songwriter. When we all think it's a stalkerish song, then it is, no matter what Sting says! So the meaning is in the audience, the ones who listen to the song. It has an obsessive beat and awesome lyrics... if you listen to this song too much, you might get insane too! And what else could it mean than the literal meaning? Just someone who's obsessed with you, and who watches every move you make. Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace I dream at night I can only see your face I look around but it's you I can't replace I feel so cold and I long for your embrace I keep on crying baby, baby please This part proves that the song does NOT have anything to do with cold war or government. If you think it does, then try to explain this part from your perspective? |

| The Police – Invisible Sun Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't think it has much to do with God. It's more like an invisible spirit, not to say God. Could be Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, or just your self-assurance that keeps you going. | |
| The Police – Can't Stand Losing You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
quite simple, but not only does the break-up lead to suicide, he also wants to make her feel guilty about it. So actually it's an obsessive song, which means such a thing as: if you're not going to come back to me, I'll kill myself and you'll be very sorry about it, because they'll blame you. Note: Sting wanted to write a lovesong, but it turned out to something else... creepy... the process of songwriting... |

| Bon Jovi – (It's Hard) Letting You Go Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Well, I indeed think it's about someone he doesn't want to let go, but I think we should have a closer look at the part : " I drove all night down streets that wouldn't bend But somehow they drove me back here once again To the place I lost at love, and the place I lost my soul I wish I'd just burn down this place that we called home " This means: no matter what happens, no matter how many lovers I'll have after you... I will never love them as much as I loved you and when I take a look at my life, I always get back here... So his life is like a pattern. It always ends up with sadness over the loss of his love. |

| Hi Breena, I don't believe that Always is about a stalker. Jack (the protagonist) is no stalker at all! He just thinks about her, he does not follow her or annoy her. I can't remember that Jon has ever said such a thing. Better compare Always to sings like 'Every breath you take' by the Police, and you'll know the difference between a lovesong and a lovesong... | |
