| The lyrics- they remind me of the American flag in todays day and age- 'torn, broken and frayed' -Also, flags seen often in 'war, sunshine and (soldiers) graves' and because 'whats bitter to taste'- blood....from the war. Beautiful song. Its one of those songs thats not meant to be loved by everyone, but those that do like it appreciate it for its beauty and excellence. | |
| Zwan – love lies in ruin Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I can't believe I'm the first to comment on this song. Although I'm sure many a fans share the same thoughts. Never the less, wOw, for lack of a better term. Relative to the Glass House version, its Billys utterly raw emotion and jimmys iron clad timing which make this song to be poetry. Maybe such lyrics notion is that all things, such as love, must come to an end (and great loves will someday have to part: 0) Love may lie in ruin but it arose in rectitude. Billy -if you read this-"THANK YOU" for everything. | |

The 3rd planet is sure that they're being watched by an eye in the sky that can't be stopped. When you get to the promise land your gonna shake that eyes hand. To me, that excerpt pinpoints a major issue of soceity today: People are so sure they are being watched by something above-SO damn sure it boggles my mind. When you get down to the nitty gritty of it, its a 50/50 chance- either we absorb into the earth when we die in complete nothingness, OR we consequent in some sort of afterlife. I try to live life thinking if there is no heaven, then GREAT, its been a nice ride and I'm content with that, and if there is a heaven, then AWESOME-I thought so. Just my point of view. |
