This song is about drug addiction... it's written from the drug's point of view. It's hauntingly obvious... hence the "I’ve been here for just one day You’ll already miss if I go away" and "You won't need other friends anymore". This also explains the "I arrived when you were weak, I'll make you weaker..." You folks were onto the dependency issue, just not the right kind of dependency. The creativity of writing the song from a drug's point of view is brilliant, but ever-so-haunting. This song gives me chills each time I hear it. |
