This is my personal interpretation, you don't agree, fine. This is just what _I_ feel what it's saying. Someone keeps remembering someone else (their soul mate, past life lover, etc.) and can't get him/her out of his/her head. He/She has a feeling that he/she might be going crazy (after all, how can you remember someone you've never met?) but since his/her life is without love, he/she believes in the existance of this soulmate/reincarnation. And this belief grows into an obsession ("taking over me") to the point where he/she is looking for this person because he/she believes that life isn't worth living without this special someone. In the lines where she sings "Have you forgotten all I know and all we had" plays upon my theory that he/she is wondering why his/her soulmate has not come searching for him/her. But deep within him/herself, he/she realizes that he/she is going crazy from want of love ("you're taking over me, I look in the mirror and see your face"). |
