Nine Inch Nails – Discipline Lyrics 17 years ago
Could this song be about the soldier in "me I'm not"? If this is an album that's to take place after the events in year zero, perhaps the soldier needs discipline. He's falling apart, worn down from fighting, killing, the drugs in his system wearing away and he's realizing what he's done. The "me, I can't stop " lyrics match well to "I need your discipline, Because once I start I cannot stop myself." The soldiers realized he's a killing machine.

Nine Inch Nails – Me, I'm Not Lyrics 18 years ago
It seems to remind me of massive attack songs of of their mezzanine album. I agree with BBQ about the red pills effects on the soldiers, it's supposed to increase the anger, although it dosn't explain the

I can win this war
by knowing not to fight
if I take it all back
someway, somehow
if I knew back then
what I know right now

lyrics. Perhaps it's describing the new drug "opal" it would certainly explain the trippyness of he song.

Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) Lyrics 20 years ago
I think it may be both about the decay of suburbia and the ice storm of 99. When the power went out because of ice on the power lines, life in Montrael went into a chaotic state. Think of a society dependent on power suddenly without it. There was little to no communications, no heat in electric heated house. Even though the military and Hyrdo Quebec intervened, there wasn't alot that could be done untill the power came back on, hence the lyric about the lack of supervision.

Massive Attack – Future Proof Lyrics 21 years ago
all i have to say is wow, the lyrics are very multifaceted describing the future, the technoesque sound reinforces it, that and it's in a smirnoff comercial

Portishead – Roads Lyrics 21 years ago
I think it's about fighting for something you believe in so far as to put your soul into it, but no one sees what your doing or really gives a damn about you or your cause, no matter it's importance. The bass and the raspyness of Beth Gibbons voice really drive the deprivity of wanting to show a point, yet all you recieve is ignorance from other people. A truely haunting song in this day in age when so much goes un-noticed.
