haha actually this song refers to Mickey harts (the drummer) uncle. His uncle was the band's manager forawhile and was in charge of all the money. After a concert his uncle dissappeared with all the dead'smoney with him. So after taht they wrote this song about it. |

where is the love for this song!!!! I love this song im not really sure what its about but if u notice, in the second stanza he says DOG and in the las he says the same thing but reverses it to make GOD.

Jena Kraus does the backup vocals for this song and its one of my favorites. She used to show up at tons of Blind Melon shows claiming she could sing and finally one time they let her sing for them and Shannon decided to let her to backup vocals for this song. I really like how it turned out. It just makes me think about how sometimes when something really bad happens to u and a group of friends or at least for me, we all just lost 4 of our really good friends in a car wreck and we are dealing with one of them who is barely alive in the hospital and how i havent really seen any of them smile in awhile, but yet somewhere they are still happy which is giving them enough to hol donto. Thats what this song makes me think of. |

The first part of this song shannon wrote about Susan Smith who murderedd her two sons in South Carolina in the fall of 94'. I would put the quote from shannon about it but its really long. Basically he was really horrified by the entire thing so he wrote this song. The end "God Presents" Was written by Shannon's great great grandmother Blanche Bridge in 1884. i thought it was cool that they put this on a cd 111 years later |

I like NO Rain ripped away version alot better on the Nico cd. Its alot more powerful and its not as melodiously candycoated like the orginal. Blind Melon is truly amazing but this however is not one of their best songs. they have others taht really blow my mind |

Its about one of Shannon's ex girlfriends who found god one day its about shannons bitterness towards how she was after taht or something along the lines of that. Thats what the band members said. If you listen to the song only through the left speaker of a stereo then the beginning of the song is just shannon's voice and the harmonicas and very acustic sounding. Ya'll should try it. I discovered this song from a promo cd that got sent to me when i bought a cd off line and this song was a secret song, track thirteen. My friend and i didnt know who it was by or what it was called so i asked the people who sent the disc and they only gave me the name mellowdrone. Im so happy i found the lyrics! this is possibly the best song i have ever heard, it puts me into such a trance. i love it. this and my first love song...excellent. i hope more people find out about these guys |

i believe that it is "i feel my body remains" at least that is what i hear. This song is so good, it goes perfectly with the movie. I feel like this song is about first love/ losing virginity??? maybe during highschool because of the line "extra time on the ground" and then the music of the song makes the love seem so innocent...like a child = playground... maybe? any thoughts? |

yea i agree with spasticsuperherogirl, that he wishes he had someone who was like sylvia plath. because in the song hes having adventures with him and then in the end of the song it reminds me of her suicide because while they are swimming and she swims away and says that itll all be alright. and then he would laugh. So i think it means that he wishes he had someone that he could have fun with but when she leaves he wont be sad. |

i really like this song. I think that it is about a person that bottles up all of their feelings and wont tell people what is wrong while people are there to help.
Snowflake eating makes me think taht the girl in the song is anorexic, because all she will eat are snowflakes/water/ice stuff like that. and shes keeping the secrets which are dangerous for her-being anorexic. And since shes dancing shes got a song but shes not singing it because she doesnt want people to know something is wrong. However there are people that want to sing her songs and help her. |
