uh... shouldn't the quotation marks go until the end of "but i have another plan"? they finish a verse too early IMO this is such an awesome, sad song |

this song is rather personal for me, because my boyfriend/fiance could very easily be the "he" in this song. i've come out of really bad depression over the last few years and i still struggle with what i look like. at one point i didn't recognise myself in the mirror at all and hated my reflection for being what it was - and hated my perception of myself even more, which is like "seeing red". seeing red makes you blind to what's really there, and believing the lies about yourself is all too easy. the way this song is expressed is just beautiful - blindside is good at making songs that fit me perfectly where i am at the point in time i discover the cd, and they've done it again. bravo Christian. |

for the person who was wondering who does the male vocals in this song: it's already been stated, but it's bruce fitzhugh, the vocalist for the metal group living sacrifice (r.i.p., *sniff*) for me i can't see how it could be anything but christian, particularly given bruce is part of it, but hey i'm open to other opinions - one of my friends is determinedly anti-God but loves this song and has her own interpretation. each to their own, as long as it still touches you. |

| Mr. Mister – Kyrie Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this is 'my song' according to everyone who knows me - they hear it and immediately think of me. i'd like to think it's because of the lyrics (which i like too) but instead it's my rather odd name - kyrie-eleison, and this and church is the only other place they've ever heard it! | |

*laughs* it seems an oxymoron i guess, but that's okay. i've heard christians try and call it 'life metal' or 'white metal' instead of black metal but oh well i love it so yeah, it's okay. i call it christian death metal because like it or not that's the name of the style, this is just a christian take on it. i hate the christian/secular divide though...grrr...but soul embraced is awesome. i actually like them better than evanescence *is mobbed by evvie fans* *dies* but that's okay. as to the 'we're not a christian band' stuff, i don't really care if they call themselves christian or not, as far as the band goes. as people, they're christians, but i applaud them for not boxing themselves in. |

diseased, sorry I've taken so long to get back here...I've been kinda busy. no that comment wasn't directed at you, it was directed at christianlovinggod because they were talking about 'doing it all for the Lord' type things with christian artists, which normally doesn't have a whole lot to do with it. But Christendom has its artists that just do things for the money, same as the secular scene and I would be tempted to think that more christian artists fit into that cateogory than secular. kinda sad, but fairly true. thanks for taking the time to respond anyway lol. *wonders where everyone's gone because noone's responded in a week* -kyrie |

christianlovinggod, first lemme say that I'm a christian and darn proud of it. and I like heavy music. so shoot me. but, just because a band isn't christian doesn't make it evil. and yeah, metallica play heavy stuff and you might not agree with all their songs. that doesn't mean you can't listen to any of it. no band IMO is pure evil. so stop harping on about that. also, POD isn't that great anymore. don't get me wrong, I was a warrior for years...but since satellite their lyrics and stuff have got really vague and they don't really grab my attention on Payable On Death. to people that say that POD's pop disguised as rock, listen to a cd called snuff the punk. enough on that. I agree with most of what people have been telling you about metallica, they really are good and just judging them on a predjudice is totally stupid. and sorry, but most of those bands DO make music to sell records. I don't know where in teh christian bubble you're from, but they make their living out of it...so they kinda want to sell a few cds. yes they're singing about God, but that doesn't mean that they don't get anything out of it. oh and if you're desperate to stay within christendom, listen to some living sacrifice, soul embraced, zao, etc...or even just a band like project 86. which is not that heavy (which is why i included it because you were talking about jars of clay and switchfoot) just because it's not positive doesn't mean it's not christian (yes I know this is off topic but humour me) and it can be fantastic music. now I'm going to shut up. feel free to yell at me if you like. but I'm a christian that likes heavy music and refuses to stay within the christian bubble. overandout...Kyrie |
