I really wanted to not like this song. Starts the CD off very slow and low toned......but it picks up n when Garvey explodes into the chorus, it instantly reminds me why I love Elbow. Always a story...always pure emotion!! |

I thought the meaning was simple in the 1st two lines.......he's talking about God. His forgiveness after Confession, and his fury when (the levee's break). No underlying factors, things just happen. Thus, the chorus aimed at him or her. Surprised this direction wasn't mentioned yet.....I could be wrong. Great Cd!! #2,3,4,5,9,10,6 my favorites in that order. |

Elbow...one of the best unknown bands around.....Lets get this clear....they sound nothing like Coldplay. Newborn is one of their best songs including the new Seldom Seen Kid disc. The lyrics posted are not all there, but that last bit is what is muddled in the background near the end of the song. I can't believe it took me this long to discover this group of musically talented outfit......I must be getting old!!! Excellent stuff from one of my new favorite bands. |

Incredible opening song for this supergroup........obviously about Layne's tragedy of a life........."For little peace from God you plead" When Layne yells those words......You yell with him and just cant help wondering if something couldve turned his world different......
Yes his life was short, but his affect on people into his music is nothing that can be explained. This Gem of a CD got me through many unpleasant nights.....its one that you can jam to...blast in your basement.....or go to sleep to. RIP Layne.....so many of us listen to your music so many years after its release......so many bands in the now were influenced by it........I just hope you are finally in peace somewhere. |

To this day I can listen to it and get chills......Incredible!!! Like many Radiohead songs do....it takes you to a different place just be listening......but as a few before me have said.....'Let Down' is definitely transcendent!!! |

Another incredible song from a still relatively unknown band even after three impressive CD's. The title says it all. He is pissed off about all of his regrets and other things that go on everywhere around him, hoping something positive can come from anything, but nothing ever does. Amazing song and disc. |

My God what an amazing song!! Good call deluth, he may have been involved or at least there when it happened....When he says "Calm yourself"....talking about himself trying to figure out how to react or what to do in panic.
One of the few songs where both Zach and Rob are talking about the same thing. One of my favorites.....they opened with this last summer at Southgate House. |

1st song I heard from Pinback when introduced. It is not my favorite, but It hooked me instantly. Then I got every CD they made and drove 3 hours to catch a concert. They didn't disappoint!! Incredible Band!! |

as - dont worry that the songs flow together, just enjoy it. A.F.I. really turned the corner with this incredible Sing The Sorrow disk. I think they were pretty much hit or miss with their earlier stuff. STS and Decemberunderground really flow well together.
Musically, when a band grows and matures/changes, take it as it is, dont say they sold out.
Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground (2006) definitely proves this band is here to stay. Honestly I hope their success isnt too great, so Davey has shit to talk about. Can they make 3 AMAZING CD's in succession?? Not many bands ever make 2 period. Check back in 2009 or 2010. |

No doubt the best song by Tom, Mark or Travis in either band. If anyone has any idea....was that a 1 time thing....?? Blink's new CD picks up where it left off......great stuff....so doubt any new BoxCar Racer is in anyone's plans. |
