| Wire – Three Girl Rhumba Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| SuicideNow, I spoke to Colin Newman when I posted that in 2007. Rhumba in this case doesn't denote dancing. It is about infidelity. | |

Lou Reed died today, 27th of October, 2013. Julian Casablancas tweeted the following: "@Casablancas_J: Lou Reed is the reason i do everything i do" I don't know how old you are, but let this be a lesson. Don't be so quick to talk unless you are 100% sure of yourself. If you are unsure, make sure you make it known, so you don't look like a fool. |

| David Bowie – Always Crashing in the Same Car Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Both he and Iggy were still using in Berlin, and David was definitely still on cocaine when recording Low. | |
| David Bowie – Always Crashing in the Same Car Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| You're right, you're guessing haha. He was still very much on cocaine when recording Low. Not at the depths of his addiction, but still dabbling, and continued to dabble here and there when living in Berlin. The thing about Berlin was that he and Iggy kept using, or having "binge days" as Iggy put it, when they moved to Berlin. He gave it up eventually. | |
| David Bowie – Always Crashing in the Same Car Lyrics | 14 years ago |

| David Bowie – Station to Station Lyrics | 14 years ago |

| The Clash – The Card Cheat Lyrics | 14 years ago |

| Badly Drawn Boy – Too Many Miracles Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Incredibly beautiful song.. The vocal melody is perfection. Don't have any good idea of what it could mean. |
|
| The Clash – Clash City Rockers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Like psalomon91 said, how did it dissolve? The answer is it didn't. Sandinista.. look at the album title ffs haha. Washington Bullets? You single out Train in Vain, Should I Stay or Should I Go, when both of those songs are on albums that still maintain political view points in the lyrics, a la Clampdown. And even on Combat Rock, like Know Your Rights and Straight to Hell etc. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Apache Rose Peacock Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i agree the most with xxvenicequeenxx2 this song seems to be very much about Jennifer Bruce, but then again it could be about Carmen Hawk as well. it makes sense with Jennifer though because she was colorful and the whole bit about 'driving down the boulevard, she was soft and i was hard' makes me think of hollywood, not new orleans. though i could be wrong. it's a song that is perhaps purposefully vague and the word just flow together so perfectly that it doesn't matter. incredible song. and flea's trumpet in the background is so genius. a perfectly simplistic addition. |

| Coldplay – Violet Hill Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
correct lyrics: Was a long and dark December From the rooftops I remember There was snow White snow Clearly I remember From the windows they were watching While we froze down below When the future's architectured By a carnival of idiots on show You'd better lie low If you love me Won't you let me know? Was a long and dark December When the banks became cathedrals And a fox became God Priests clutched onto bibles Hollowed out to fit their rifles And the cross was held aloft Bury me in armor When I’m dead and hit the ground My nerves are poles that unfroze And If you love me Won't you let me know? I don't want to be a soldier Who the captain of some sinking ship would stow, far below If you love me Why'd you let me go? I took my love down to Violet Hill There we sat in snow All that time she was silent still Said if you love me Won't you let me know? If you love me, Won't you let me know? |

| Coldplay – Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Reign of love I can’t let go To the sea I offer This heavy load Locusts will Lift me up I’m just a prisoner In a reign of love Locusts will Let us stop I wish I’d spoken up To the reign of love Reign of love By the church, we’re waiting Reign of love on my knees go praying How I wish I’d spoken up Away get carried on the reign of love |

| Coldplay – Cemeteries of London Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
these are the correct lyrics: At night they would go walking 'till the breaking of the day The morning is for sleeping Through the dark streets they go searching to see god in their own way Save the night time for your weeping Your weeping Singing la la la la la la laiy And the night over London lay So we rode down to the river where Victorian ghosts pray For the curses to be broken We go underneath the arches where the witches are and they say There are ghost towns in the ocean The ocean Singing la la la la la la laiy And the night over London lay God is in the houses and god is in my head And all the cemeteries in London I see god come in my garden but I don’t know what he said For my heart it wasn’t open Not open Singing la la la la la la laiy And the night over London lay Singing la la la la la la laiy There’s no light over London today |

| Coldplay – Death and All His Friends Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Chris Martin: "Well, this is supposed to be the theme of the album, really. We're aware of all the bad stuff in life, you know — i.e. Death and all his friends — but that doesn't mean you should ever give in to it, you know? So we all sing that bit together really loudly, as kind of a message to ourselves: never giving up and never focusing on the bad stuff too much." |

| Coldplay – A Spell a Rebel Yell Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| the bass plays: C, Bb and Ab sorry. | |
| Coldplay – Death and All His Friends Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
for me it's not even the chant that should have gone longer (although it definitely WOULD have been better) but i wish there was more variation on the last three chords that he plays throughout most of the song. the bass plays Eb, Bb, and Ab. as Chris plays Eb, D and C in chords. what I'm saying is they should have both played Eb, Ab, back to Eb and Eb, C, back to Eb respectively. with the much needed G in there somewhere. A musical resolution is needed in that song. It's a completely great song and perfect ender but yeah. It needed an extra punch. |

this is such a catchy and melodic song. i don't see how one can not like it. Ellen's voice is sweet as hell. It's not the best song on Sandinista but it's special in it's own simplistic way |
|
| Coldplay – Violet Hill Lyrics | 17 years ago |

it's "my love..." not "the love.." the last two lines are in the first person so it would make sense for him to sing 'my' |

| The Velvet Underground – Coney Island Steeplechase Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| during the "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Maybe not Friday ..." part of the song.. is it just me or does the influence of the VU on the Strokes really shine, particularly Julian Casablancas singing. The line "Maybe not Friday.." sounds exactly like his style or the style could obviously could have possibly influenced him. I don't know. Maybe it's all just coincidence, but it sounds cool all the same. it's my favorite part of the song. | |
| Owen – Playing Possum for a Peek Lyrics | 21 years ago |
