Maybe the riff rips off the Kinks, but who cares? He added an extra note, it's totally different, haha! I think this song holds it's own as a very catchy pop song, and Trent himself has stated that Nine Inch Nails is a band that writes pop songs. I'm sure the album will have heavier or more complex songs. Also I think that the lower production quality is kind of cool, it's cool to hear NIN sounding more like a rock band and less like a studio project. This song sounds better when you turn it up alot and focus on how it grooves and kicks ass, instead of reading the lyrics, because sometimes trent's lyrics can suck. |

And actually, also, I think that this song actually works pretty well with Britney's voice, because it doesn't take a great voice to sing this song, and doesn't demand the kind of vocal acrobatics that the Beyoncés and Christinas can do. She sings it very plainly, kind of sexy, there aren't big waily vocal solos... so I think even Britney works on this song. |

Ok, regardless of whether or not you dig britney, this song is undeniably sweet. Like seriously. Most songs are definitely not as good as this. But this one is. I don't even know why. It just is. Maybe cuz it just grooves so hard. Anyhow, forget that the name associated with this song is the same name as the one associated with "Lucky" and "Oops I Did It Again" and just realise that this song is seriously one of the best songs of the year, the production is awesome, it's amazingly sexy and catchy, it's awesome, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I love this song way too much. Maybe because of the strings. I don't know. It's awesome. |

The song's obviously set in the desert so they could make a sweet music video with them wandering around in the desert looking really bad ass
I agree with the various levels thing, and you could take him "shooting" his love to be a metaphor for any kind of abuse, physically or verbally or whatever, but whatever his exact actions were, he's regretting it |

I have no idea what he's ranting about but the riffs in this song are sweet, and Chris Cornell seems to have an animal thing in his lyrics... there seem to always be dogs or pigs or snakes or, in this case, fish, sharks and monkeys |
