| Norma Jean – Memphis Will Be Laid To Rest Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Hey, I'm not totally sure what this songs about, I will ask my bro sometime, cuz he talked to the dude a while about his songs and crap. But I think that it refers to the way that people treat their relationships and overall lives with lust. "Doing the waltz with your murderer."............. I think its about just relishing in being directly in sexual impurity. "Mediocrity is the killer.".... maybe the popular belief that your ok as long as you don't actually have intercourse. "Lower your defenses, lower your casket. Open the door, open the grave."...... I take it as advice to people who are being tempted sexually. "She," or "her." refering to the adulterous or the personification of lust, just like in other Noma Jean songs. And the whole regret thing..... obvious. Love so refined, pretty obvious in this context. Others maybe are metaphors to a personal experience. I dunno, thats my guess. Ill try to get back to you after talkin to my bro. | |

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, it refers to the adulterous as "She," just like it does in Proverbs all the time. Check this out: All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life.~Proverbs 7:22-23 Similar to Norma lyrics, verdad? |

| Ok, just to tell you, both my good friend and my brother have met the vocalist and have talked to him about what all the songs mean, so I'm sure on this. This is just about lust. Face to face, the title, is talking about our actions toward lust, how we yearn for it, yet push it away out of disgust. So you're right on track Darth Squirrel. | |
