I think this song is about the way we humans live. You know, you are born. (Welcome, my son, welcome to the machine) You go to school. 8-15. 8-15. 8-15. 8-15 (STATIC!!) You grow up. Start to work. 6-16. 6-16. 6-16. 6-16. (STATIC!!) And it goes like that. We all grow up, to become "machines" and serve the government (We told you what to dream) |

"Some other people think its Ozzy writing about his love for his wife Sharon Anne Teresa Osbourne" considering Ozzy didn't even write the song, I seriously doubt that, AND - Ozzy wasn't even married to Sharon then, sooooo... |

I am quoting "Ozzy was going through what he termed a "divorce," and he was depressed about it, and that's why I wrote, at the end of "Goodbye To Romance" - and there's another example - "Look ahead - forget about the past - I think the sun will shine," you know? I wrote that sitting in the demo studio in Birmingham near where Ozzy used to live as sort of a positive light shining through the darkness of his divorce from Black Sabbath. "Goodbye To Romance" was his title, but that's just a line out of an Everly Brothers song. " |

You all got it wrong. First of all, Ozzy didn't write this song at all. Bob Daisley, the bassist did. It's about Ozzy drinking, doing drugs, and basically killing himself. It's not about Bon Scott, that's just a lie that Ozzy have been telling for the past 20 years because he's so embarrassed not having written ANYTHING on the first 2 albums. And, for the guy who couldn't even spell Rhoads, and thought that Randy killed himself - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? Randy died in a planecrasch, and didn't even do drugs or alcohol!! Fuck sake... |
