clearly this song is about being depressed. hes never been this way, or felt this way or licked death that way. he wants happiness "got your eyes looking for something that will never be found- like a reason [to live?]" the shot/pil thing is probably refering to anti depressants or anything to cure him ...hence the name give me the cure. |

bno opened with this diddy when i saw them. it was awesome, this song is my favorite. its very slow and drags on...the screaming is great...it all reminds me of someone slowly suffering or dying. which makes sence, bno is all about death. it also speeds up at some points, best line: "i know that i'm responsible for this and i'll miss you" just the way its sung with the music makes it the best |

First off, awesome lyrics. This is obvously about someone suffering from addictions so bad they cant remeber jack shit. I think its also talking to someone about helping them recover, getting rid of "every ember" ..."or baby were dead". the song is pretty self explainatory, best lines are "Maybe we can get past these addictions, but the bodies piling up are a whole other story unless your stomach's strong enough." ps. i saw bno live, i need to see them again |
