actually this song is about mordern man's need for emotinal expierence, and their spiritual barness, we as modern humans in 2005/6 often reject anything that cant be explained, which is in short, almost everything that maters, and we end in a perpetual angst, with most of our needs unfufilled, and we will generally do almost anything for an infusion of meaning or spiritual fix "chanting in the darkness just for one taste screaming bloody mary until my mirror breaks" the narrator uses the bloody mary ritual of darring a spirit to attack, and waiting for it or anything as a symbol of modern man waiting for anything of spiritual significane, and the narrator will do anything for "one glimpse" of something meaningful that man in his mordern condition is denied and often lables as harful (" the disease riding on your lips" the narrator is trying to expierence life " beyond reason" |

| okay everyone long story short, the clash, while might fine music, is not punk, an actual punk ( a few of which to survive today) actually belvies and anarchy, would probably stab a governments offical / buisness man / high class person in general sooner than shake their hand, they were politcally infored ( please note "punk" bands, like greenday or blink182 are not nearly as informed) now the clash was damm good music but they didnt really belive in anarchy, or political change, they were rockstars plain and simple, and they kinda did kill punk, they wernt as horrible as the sex pistols, (which were created by a label to sell punk as a product and are in no way remotley punk and are the main reason punk is dead) actual punk music includes; crass, zounds, buzzcocks, no effects, rancid to some degree there not that posery, the jam ( they were pop sounding but were actually punk instead of people trying to sound punk and have pop lyrics aka green day) in short crass adolescent and damaged goods are correct, and if you disagree with me / the, your a poser and jst not very smart | |
