Pink Floyd – Have a Cigar Lyrics 21 years ago
I've heard two reasons why Roy Harper sang it rather than Roger Waters or David Gilmour. A website said both were having trouble with the vocals and, since Harper was in the same studio doing his own stuff, they asked him. Another version (I think this came from a Gilmour interview) said neither of them felt like doing it so they asked Roy. The deal was Harper would do the vocals for season tickets for cricket from Roger, which he never received. The only thing I don't like about the song is the vocals, although they're done pretty well. I just prefer David Gilmour's voice.

Pink Floyd – The Dogs of War Lyrics 21 years ago
What, incu!? What!? WHAT!? The title is a reference to a line from Shakespeare's Juilius Caesar: "Cry havoc! and let slip the dogs of war!" "Dogs of war" is a metaphor for the wild ferociousness of war. Jackass. The song is extending the metaphor.

Pink Floyd – Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict Lyrics 21 years ago
He's not drunk, retard, he's Scottish. Also, if you speed it up to about 96 rpms (not sure about the number), you can hear David Gilmour saying, "This is quite avant-garde, isn't it?"

Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Lyrics 21 years ago
Okay, tess, just friggin' scroll down and see the jillion other posts that correctly point out this song is about Syd Barrett. Well, it's about all absence, generally, both physical and mental, but it is, of course, directed at Syd. If you don't want to scroll down, here it is: Syd Barrett was one of the founding members and was the guitarist/lead singer before David Gilmour came into the picture, although he was friends with the band previously. His pre-existing case of schizophrenia was worsened by intense use of acid and he broke down. He began to space out at shows and and stop singing. The rest of the band, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, and Rick Wright, eventually began to pick him up for practice less and less until one day they didn't pick him up at all. Gilmour was brought into the band and practiced only 5 or 6 times with Barrett before he disappeared from the lineup altogether. Gilmour and Barrett remained friends, as Gilmour produced Barrett's two subsequent solo albums, and David proved an apt replacement. Also, he was quite hot.
