| AFI – Silver And Cold Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| In my opinion, this song goes along with most of the album, which I feel is about how he felt realizing he was gay. In this particular song's case, I think it's about his general feelings of his first (or one of his first) physical relationships with another man. I think he was likely raised religious, which is why he feels so much like the relationship is sinful (your sins in to me) but he can't help but feel happy in his lover's arms (or maybe having his lover in his arms). | |
| Rise Against – The Approaching Curve Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
@thejackofspades "This is the worst rise against song it sounds like something good charlotte or my chemical romance would write. Hopefully this is a blip on whats otherwise a great album rather than a sign of things to come. " What, because they're not singing about your beloved revolution, a revolution you likely don't even fully comprehend, it's a bad song? What little you know. The revolution they sing about is already here, and you're taking no part, I'd bet. And what about love? Without it, the revolution would be pointless. It's sick to hear these kinds of comments from people like you. The song meaning's been hit on the head a couple times. It's more than the obvious, as most of Rise Against's lyrics tend to be. The song seems to indicate a lot of symbolism. The road being the path they take, and the fact that she's driving must mean that she was the one who built and wanted the relationship. He, however, did not. Like was mentioned above, when the relationship met it's time for change, she didn't follow, and ran them off the road. The outward (obvious) meanings that the song portrays, however, is beautiful. "Please, love, give me the wheel, before both of our hearts you'll steal tonight"~ Beautiful :) |

| Theory of a Deadman – Bad Girlfriend Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's about a groupie... You know, the girls who fuck bands for the money they get out of them. Since when did every rock band decide to be Buck Cherry? Songs like this are getting old and unoriginal. | |
| Red – Already Over, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The lover could be God, and the addiction could be sin. The band is a Christian one so of course people are going to assume religious lyrics. @SammaeL Just because you don't like religion doesn't mean you need to directly contradict everyone who infers religious meaning in lyrics. You're worse than them when you do. |

| Godsmack – Shine Down Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| What a great song. All these years that Godsmack has spent their time hurting and reminiscing on things that made them feel hatred or other negative feelings... And all the time they've spent on their generally anti-God things (not that I blame them for feeling that way, I have too at times) but here we have a new quality track from them speaking about (in my opinion) the way he has never been able to shake the feeling that there really is a God, and that he really does love us all immortally (even after all the time we've spent telling him we hate him) and that's like a ray of light shining down and piercing the darkness. Truly a song that you can feel good listening to. | |
| Matisyahu – King Without A Crown Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Saw this on FUSE of all places... Looked it up and lo and behold, a jew trippin' his Reggae. Wow. And the lyrics are altogether powerful... You can feel it even when you don't know what he's saying, as made obvious by previous posts. It's funny to me, though, how people like him so much until they see that he's for real. Everyone loves to follow the anti-Jewish anti-God anti-religious fad... and Strangenoise said Matisyahu was alienating the fans... Though I see what he was saying, I can't help but ask who's really alienating who? (This post self-rated +4 insightful.) | |
| Cannibal Corpse – Raped By The Beast Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Eh, I guess you're right... But he sure has a lot to say about Cannibal Corpse and the idiots that go along with it... So I think it might count. =/ | |
| Linkin Park – Numb Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Linkin Park is a wonderful band. They pushed something new and stuck to it, unlike most bands that start sounding like someone, and went on to sound like someone else. It's true that their music is lyrically straightforward, and dosen't leave much room for interpretation (CoF-Nympetamine Fix), but I think that's a good thing. --- anyways... I don't think this song was made so much for a child-parent relationship. I know that the greater part of LP's fanbase are very young (13-17) kids/adults, and thus most of the comments will be parent-child, but I think it's something a little more. I have to disagree with numb referring to being numb to the people pushing them around, as much as being numb to themself. On a personal lever, I think it's alot like the way that I've been told what to be for many many years. Even from childhood, and through my teen years, and now through my adult days, people always want me to be something I either can't be, don't want to be, or don't know how to be. Even now, my fiancee wants me to be this perfect boyfriend and husband, but I haven't been with many women, so I can't say I'm really sure how. All my life I've been pressured to be things I can't be, like a professional businessman type so I can get a good job, or a tamed down quiet boy because people can't handle people as upbeat as me... And that puts alot of pressure on me. So much pressure that I find myself more and more "numb" to myself, my own feelings, because I've been forced for so long to not care about what I think, only what everyone around me thinks. I think that's pretty much what the full song is all about. |

| Cannibal Corpse – Raped By The Beast Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I thought that after perusing a few different Cannibal Corpse songs I might fond some hope for intelligent life... Heh. I didn't. This song is as shallow and meaningless as the rest of their "lyrics". Gimme 5 minutes and I can drop a song just as great as this. It's sad. Bands like this, who just do stuff to make people go "OMG" are killing rock. There's just so little worth listening to because the Image Bands have to worry about how they do their makeup and costumes more than how their music sounds. Makes me so mad. And as a side note, quiffporn, DarKouto, GreatRedGoat, you people are the worst examples of the trashy fanbase this band has ended up with. | |
| Cannibal Corpse – A Skull Full Of Maggots Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| " Yeah seriously there asshole why would look at lyrics to the song if you don't even like the band,..." Because people peruse to see what other people like. It's too bad too many idiots like this crap. =S | |
| Deicide – Bastard of Christ Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
DarKuto, keep it up, you're gonna bust my side man... You're so funny, no matter what shitty song you defend. XD Erm, anyway, once again, this song has no meaning. The lyrics are once again shallow and are there for no other reason than to make people go "OMG!" I think that's what they did. Maybe the band is good musically, maybe not. But no matter what, they suck as far as the lyrics here go. |

| U2 – Vertigo Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Heh, if people can't say more than "this song rocks U2 rocks!" or "this song sucks U2 sucks!" then really, go away, because everyone reading those lines, whether they agree or not, is going to laugh. (This goes to you people "who tlk lik ths.")... --- I love this song because, 14 should always come after 3. The numbers 4-13 are really overrated anyway. Not to mention that 14 is actially spelled quatorce, if I'm not mistaken... --- On to the juice. This song obviously dosen't have alot of depth. More depth than alot of much I've seen around here, but still it's just not that deep (It sounds like they wrote the lyrics while stoned). However, the music, along with the lyrics, make for a pretty powerful and good-damn-feeling song. Think of this song as more of a musical masterpiece with a dash of cheesy lyrics to sex it up a bit. Where I come from we call this sort of music Cheesecore. Good stuff. =) |

| Cannibal Corpse – I Cum Blood Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| What's sad about this song is that it's so damn shallow. So I like metal. I like goth metal. I like speed metal. And I like death metal. But, when it comes down to conjuring up plain horrible lyrics just to make people go "ZOMFG!!11! Ths r so kewl cuz it shckng!!", then you know you've got a problem. If a band can't make music that's at least deeper than half an inch bullshit like this, then they're not worth anything. I think I got over all this shocking be-gross-to-make-people-gasp such back in high school. | |
| P.O.D. – Abortion Is Murder Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| If abortion is legalized, why not make it ok for parents to kill their kids, no matter what the kids age? =D Yeah this song is pretty horrible. It makes no real sense... But, it is very cool to see them just stand up and say something they believe. I commend them for that. | |
| Cradle of Filth – Satanic Mantra Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Tauramehtar: Just wanted to toss in an Amen. We need more people like you around. People with enough sense to understand that it's spelled "aren't" not "rnt", or "you're" not "ur" =) anyway. --- The obvious point of this song, aside from the "hey we'll say some ebil stuff to sound cool" is the music. The volcals are just there for a little spice. And, I know this is "Song Meanings dot net" but hey, I think that music lacking real lyrical content can mean stuff too, eh? |

| Cradle of Filth – Nymphetamine Fix Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
First off, a couple of the lyrics are wrong, I believe. I've listened this over and there are a couple places I think are incorrect... 1) "...find the slot for your sacred key" should be "...find the _right_ slot for your sacred key." 2) "Hold their message away" should be "Hold their mesmeric sway." 3) "On the binds of your loneliness" should be "From the binds..." I believe, and the second time Liv sings it (near the end), I believe loneliness should be holiness. Anyways... I can't really completely place this song. Obviously it is about an addiction, but I'm not so sure if it's just sex. However, if the additional lyrics for Nymphetamine Overdose are really part of the whole story, then that's likely true. But if it was just sex, why was he so bothered by her leaving? (Cold was my soul / Untold was the pain / I faced when you left me / A rose in the rain.... ). Also, there is some evidence that it wasn't so much about sex, since both him and her are longing for each other, not just him for her ( Liv: Fold to my arms / Hold their mesmeric sway / And dance out to the moon / As we did in those golden days ). So maybe his lust for her caused a problem. Possibly even something fatal. (Bared on your tomb / I'm a prayer for your loneliness / And would you ever soon / Come above onto me?) The reference to the tomb, along with the line "Come _above_ unto me" makes me wonder if it's not something more tragic, maybe his lust for her was so strong that something happened, and brought about her death. Or it could be that they both died, but he still longs for and lusts after her. Remember The Crow? There's a million different things it could be. But no matter what the meaning, this song is wonderously beautiful. And Liv is a wonderful addition to the hard Goth sounds of Cradle Of Filth. (Everybody go get this album!) ~Neko |

| Crossfade – Cold Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's amazing how much power a song can have... This song breaks me down every time I hear it. Just like most guy's I've fucked up with my fiancee too. We're still together but we've been through alot of hard times just because I'm so messed up. Lately I've lost my grandmother, and been basically disowned by my parents, not to mention losing almost every friend I've had... So I've been pretty torn up... Which in turn fell on her shoulders...for which I'm sorry... | |
