This is probably my favorite on the Merrymakers album. To me it's about a guy who is totally into a girl but she doesn't acknowledge his existence. Because of how she makes him feel, he thinks he would have been better off never knowing her in the first place. The woolly muffler or scarf is an awesome metaphor. I also love the bitterness with which Sean describes hands growing together and people turning against him. It's powerful. |

I really like the feeling this song gives off. I picture being alone underneath the stars on a brisk night with those spacey sounds playing in the background. But I guess what is being said in the song is that someone is being exposed for who they are. People have finally adjusted (to the dark) to see what this person is all about. Any more thoughts? |

Yes, they played this at a show I went to as well. I didn't even know OF them before the show and went for another group, but Anathallo stole the show in my eyes. A lot of their songs calm and clarify my thoughts. It's deep. |

I think that's right on as far as what the song's about. One correction in the lyrics though:
you say, "if you left, you know i'd be right behind you."
i said, "get up??"
I think the "get up" is actually "ditto". |

I love the synthesizer sounds throughout the song. That being said, I give it a personal meaning in that I sometimes look for things in this world to be handed to me. That is not the way it works though, one has to get out there and make it happen. |

To me, this song is all about that last summer after high school before everyone departs for college. It could actually even refer to a summer home from college before everyone heads off towards their own calling. It's an amazing song and makes me sad. |
