| There are people who think that EVERYTHING is about something dirty...normally their response is more telling about their characteer than the nature of the actual song in question... | |

during the Renaissance there was a certain Frenchman named Pascal who was known as a mathmatician, a philospher and an inventor. He was also a Christian, and he proposed that every person had a "God shaped hole' inside of them that they needed to fill. I do not think that John Mayer wrote this song about Jesus, but it certainly does reflect the way everyone feels, and if a person has tried everything to fill in that void in their life and they are still coming up empty, maybe it is because they need to fill that 'God shaped hole' with God. It seems obvious that if John Mayer feels this way, there is no way any of us can have enough money or prestige or talent to get past this feeling. Jesus is the answer to this question, if you are curious, check out http://www.needhim.org/g/. It can't hurt just to look at it. I am a Christian and I can tell you, John Mayer may not realize it, but he is singing about his own need for Jesus. |

| Dishwalla – Counting Blue Cars Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Jesus Christ was a man. In the Hebrew and Greek scriptures it is obvious that the when bible writers believed that God was a man as well, not a woman. God refers to himself as a male and those who met with God and were with him (propehts, angels, etc...) describe God as a man. This is not sexist, just the Bible. Any notion that God has no gender is a man-made notion to ignore the facts presented in the Bible, God is obviously not a lady to any casual reader of scripture, and this is not the result of interpretation, the thousands of ancient manuscripts tell us that the Bible has always read this way. This does not mean the song is necessarily blaphemous either, children ask funny questions and say odd things, and maybe that is why we can relate to the song so well, it touches a part of use that wants to ask questions and know all kinds of wonderful things. Of course, I don't think there is enough information in the song for us to know what it is about exactly. |

| ...so, barely a handful of you have actually commented on the meaning of the song...maybe you all should find a hobby, go outside or something... | |
