this has to be one of my all time favorite beatles songs ever, its absolutely beautiful my interpretation was that the girl pretty much controlled the relationship, and how it was just a brief fling that ended up not meaning anything. the whole "this bird has flown" just shows the brevity of the relationship, and how he just lit up and ending with "Isn't it good/Norwegian Wood" kind of shows he doesn't care anymore. but anyways i always thought "So I lit a fire, " was definitely about drugs |

love this song...i prefer to hear it as a song on a relationship, but thats just me...listening to it like its about their manager just doesn't do it for me. "This is your ghost that kneels before me/ Razors on her tongue, a body full of oxygen" christ, i love those lines so much...they're chilling but beatiful i agree with Tarak162 about the ruthless thing...he's bitter about the relationship having ended and he's saying 'if you'd take me back, i could be as ruthless to you as you were to me' and that type of thing, almost like he's desperate to be back with the girl but kind of wants to hurt her too, as a way for revenge. but that's just my interpretation |
