I think this song is about a woman who takes care of her brother-in-law while he's sick with a cough, and her sister's out of town. The man had a little too much robotussin, and the subsequent buzz led to some interesting behavior, namely the fact that he tried to bake some cookies. As a woman, that's her job, so she was shocked. She took over, but she offered to let him lick the cookie dough off the spoon. At the same time, it becomes a little more clear why her sister and brother-in-law haven't had any kids, so she tells to "quit fronting" about the fact that her husband is likely a homosexual. |

Great song!! It's hard to decide whether I like the simplfy version or this version better They're both great in many ways.. Anyway, I'm thinking this song has something to do with being sheltered all your life to dangers, playing violent video games, and becoming violent as a result, without really knowing pain or the consequences until it's too late. |

I just wanted to mention that in the first round of the chorus, the last two lines go:
"I'll Say! A thousand words to get you out of your shirt I want to get into you"
Anyway.. to me, this song says you're never going to make everybody happy- whether you're a king, a president, a frontman in a band, in a relationship, or simply driving a car. If you're in any kind of position or task in which people can observe you, you're going to have your critics and haters. |

The author and his significant other just had a big fight or some kind of conflict, and he fears the relationship could end, but he doesn't want it to end, he doesn't want to fight anymore. |

All cynicism aside, I kind of like the song. It's an intense song, and sometimes it's nice to hear old familiar musicians with a slightly different flavor. |

I think many of us guys have been there: "On bourbon alley feeling low, just because she let him go, I don't think he even knows he'll ever be fine" It's about losing one's sense of self-worth over some fickle chick. A sad but real phenomenon.. Been there |

It's about meeting women who are apprehensive or anxious about the future when they meet a guy... Basically, it's saying "Chill out. I just want to have a little fun. we can work on the details later, if we work on them at all" |

Saroknight said it well... I just want to say I like the intro. It sets the mood for the song. I think this song sends the message, don't neglect the people who care about you.. What goes up must come down.. Don't forget the people who were close to you in the beginning. They won't put up with your crap forever. |

This song is definitely related to "Sweet" on the same album, maybe they divided up the lyrics into two songs?.. Anyway, This is another song about unrequited love-- The guy fell in love with a girl who rocks his world, and he wants to show his love for her and treat her like a queen... But something isn't right about her, and now she's leaving to go far away. Maybe he won't see her again, but he hopes in the back of his mind that he does and that it will work out in the end. He realizes by saying that, he is living in a fantasy.. but he supposes it's okay to dream for a while |

To me, It's about unrequited love and moving on. This guy is crazy about a girl, and feels like there's a connection, "you make up ridiculous words.. I know just what you mean" but she's a free spirit and sees bigger and better things for her, even though he feels he'd give anything for her. At the same time he realizes she is not good for him, so he acknowledges that it's time to move on, and someday he will find someone who is right for him, and she will find someone who can handle her. He wishes her well. Beautiful song. It reminds me of a relationship I just got out of. |

This song was my inspiration to break out of my shell, go out and be more social.. "Life could Slip away in absent minded numbness" "This kind of world don't care if you're home" and "Hey don't break the mold kid, just eat around it, yeah that's what I did.." Those lines say to me: Don't let the time slip away and miss the opportunity to make good memories. The world isn't going to come in and revamp your social life. You just have to get out there and be you.. Do your own thing, do what you like, and you'll be happy. |

To me, this song is about getting stuck into a normal routine, and feeling the effects afterwardsof being a little too crazy. "the years of mischief, followed by weeks of thrift, I land on earth's hard face" but nonetheless, always wanting to get out and have a little fun... never wanting to sleep, wanting to life life to the fullest. . "for a while" |
