I think this song is saying that sometimes even doctors can't see the pain behind the smile. A lot of doctors just want to get you out of their office, and not deal with you themselves, so they end up giving you some anti-depressant that doesn't work for everyone. |

I'd have to agree with WinterOnyx. To me, this song is talking about how much he loves this girl, but she can't see how beautiful she really is. "Look at the stars Look how they shine for you" - He thinks she's so beautiful and important, and he wants her to see her beauty and importance too. "I came along I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called yellow" - He's trying so hard to show her how beautiful she is. The song could be showing her how far he'd go to make her better, or to make her understand who she is in reality. "Your skin Oh yeah, your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful" - Maybe the girl has an eating disorder, because she doesn't feel that she's beautiful or skinny enough. 'Skin and bones' refers to her weight loss. "Cos you were all yellow I drew a line I drew a line for you" - When you're sick and too thin, you're skin turns a shade of yellow. Perhaps this is what he's referring to. The referance to the line, could show how far he'd go for her to get better. |
