I think this song is about what it means to live for Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "If you insist on saving your life, you will lose it. Only those who throw away their lives for my sake and for the sake of the Good News will ever know what it means to really live." (Mark 8:35) We can try to live our lives gaining things for ourselves - money, status, etc., but in the end, those things are all vanity. It's only the people who forsake living life for themselves, but rather live for Jesus and the gospel that find the real reason for living.

The way I kinda view this song is about how we harden ourselves against turning to God. We create our own prison in this life by refusing to turn to Jesus to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from our unrighteousness. We can sometimes get so entrenched with a lifestyle of hating everything and everyone that we don't want to come to God-even though He is the only person who can set us free from our sin and guilt. I think this song is about how Christ offers his love and forgiveness to all who are willing to receive Him. The narrator in this song is "daring" the listener to "move" on Jesus' offer of eternal life and forgiveness for your sins. Christ stands at the door of your heart knocking ("Salvation is here"), and He waits for you to open the door, though the decision ultimately rests with you. I think the "tension" the narrator is referring to is the importance of the decision about whether to accept or reject Christ. It's a decision between life and death.
