| Tender Forever – Doves Vs. Pigeons Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think the last stanza is actually : If we're doves, we'll fly we don't need, need any sky if pigeons we find on the shore, shore we will, we'll fight we'll fight, we'll fight |

| Say Hi – These Fangs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think it's kind of a double entendre. on the surface it's obviously a reference to vampires, but i think it also has a lot to do with the ways that people disguise their negative flaws &traits from another person when they enter a relationship. he has all of these things that he doesn't want her to know about, &so he doesn't mind if she wants to hide the things she's ashamed of as well. | |
| Cat Power – Empty Shell Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i wonder if this song is about bill callahan of smog, who is now dating joanna newsom. | |
| Cat Power – Good Woman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the song pretty much defines the end of a relationship that i've just gotten out of. No matter how much we loved one another, the things we'd done in the past just sort of made us destroy eachother, we ruined ourselves. so we had to seperate our lives completely to try to become good people again. | |

| New Order – Age Of Consent Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i agree that the song is about sex, but i always picture the relationship to be a younger boy with an older woman. It seems to me that the relationship was supposed to be strictly sex but then there were all these feelings that came with it. "you're not the kind that needs to tell me about the birds &the bees", usually it's left up to an adult to explain that. In the end she leaves him, but he still sees her around &her presence still lingers- hence the "won't you please let me go? these words lie inside, they hurt me so." He's hurt &he misses her, but he just wishes he could get past it. hm. but maybe i'm dumb. | |

| Braid – Circus Of The Stars Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this song reminds me of a previous relationship i was in. a lot happened in the time we were together, i had a lot of doubts, but basically it all came down to how much of a factor drugs were in his life. We broke up on semi-decent terms and still wanted to salvage what we could but it doesn't seem possible anymore. | |
| American Football – Letters and Packages Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| ahem; what's to fix? I think this song is probably about the short story 'For Esme- With Love and Squalor' which is in Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger. Esme was a young girl that the main character, an american soldier, met in a tearoom after seeing her perform in a choir. They talked over tea and she told him about her fathers death and such. When she left she got his contact information &at the end of the story he was looking through an assortment of unopened 'letters and packages' and found something that she sent him. A wonderful story. | |
