Streetlight Manifesto – The Big Sleep Lyrics 21 years ago
I love the end of this song. Straight Up emotion. I want to hear BOTAR do it. Imagine what this would sound like with random piano and violins? *Drools*

Streetlight Manifesto – A Better Place, A Better Time Lyrics 21 years ago
I personally think this is the best song on the album. I love the message and how the song is written. I've seen them 7 times and every time i see them, i get all kinds of emotional when they play this. It's like emo music- but with horns...LOL

Streetlight Manifesto – Point/Counterpoint Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is Keasbey Nights. Try singing the Keasbey Nights chorus over it. Or better yet, try singing the P/CP Chorus at the end of Keasbey Nights when the chorus repeats. The chorus has the same sound and is exactly twice as long as KN. It even has a similar theme. There's more to the song than that though.

In the liner notes of the demo, this is what tomas had to say about the song:

"Point counterpoint is another example of about 3 or 4 diffreent songs coming together to make one. most songs start with a solitary part: a chorus, a chunk of verse, a horn melody. even a cool intro. whatever. this part is jotted down or memorized in hopes of soon fleshing that song out into a full composition. Counterpoint is an example of a chorus-less verse teaming up with a verse-less chorus and then being joined by a lonely and song-less horn part. if i had been diligent i could've miled the parts for three whole songs but instead i took the easy way out (SHOCK! HORROR!) and made one huge mutant song instead. The horn part is a doo-wop rip-off, a homage to the choppy sax parts of louis jordan et al. the verse was actually a belle and sebastian rip off, from my wuss-phase. (I still love them. Wussiness prevails after all) it was originally meant to be sung by a boy and a girl. like a call and response typ thing (Girl: "If there was something wrong..." Boy: "I'd like to think I would..." etc. You get the picture. All sappy and slow and whatnot.) The counterpoints line is about the dynamics of argument and how despite being convinced you're right, the other person is just as convinced of their being right. very dramatic. Sheeesh. so then the chorus kicks in and everything is lost. it's from a song that was written in my "KEASBEYYYYYYYYYY" days (high school) and has the signature theme that I try so hard to aboid but can't. anyway, i remember deliberating over whether or not to say 'motherfucking clock' or 'tick-tock clock'. eventually i went with my sunday school instinct and said tick toc because after all (and ironically) the chorus was loosely based on a nursery rhyme (that one about the mocking bird that won't sing and whatnot) and 'tick tock' sounds very nursery rhyme to me. Aw, how sweet, i know. but at least i snuck the word 'cock' in there. keeping it real for the streets."
