While partaking in an evenings leisure at 'The Club' one day J-Kwon made the perceptive observation that everyone was getting rather tipsy. This pleased him because it allowed him to indulge in a spot of pimping. After much jolly pimping of ho's he decided to expand his operations to the unsuspecting MTV consuming public through hip-hop. Knowing that they would be harder to charm, he decided use hypnosis. The mantra 'Errybody in the club gettin tipsy' was repeated over a most tight beat from 'back in the day'. Then the repetition of monosyllabic rhyming words and counting up and down in short single digit number sequences was used to construct the rest of the song. With this cunning ruse in place the stage was set for J-Kwon to pimp his audience. 650,000 people to date have succumbed to the hypnotic power of J-Kwon through 'Tipsy' and millions more have felt it's tight beat. |

The friendship could be that between Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon who features only on the last track on Think Tank Battery in your leg. Coxon left Blur in October 2002, before most of Think Tank was recorded. |

Commiting yourself to doing something and finding it hard to meet that commitment. When I listen to this song I think of the merchants travelling across the desert on camels, Caravans! |

This is the last song on the sgt Peppers, I see the album as being one grand concert and this song represents what happens one the concert has finished. I think the lyrics are about how you can be disaffected the world around you, although you see things happening and they seem real. This is not so much like Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb in which the singer has become numb to the pain that surrounds him. Here we have what appears to be a cynical take on newspapers and telivision. It seems to comment upon the way they try to cause reactions of sadness and disgust, in the end its just another day in the life where you got up late rushed to get the bus and thought about sex. It could be that John was saying that even though you may be famous, dreaming about love, sex and in his case making beautiful music is what you think about most
of the time. Another day in the life for Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. |
