I've been in a 6 year relationship very similar to this that I just had to end. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do, but it was a vicious cycle that had to be done. Like they say in New Storms For Old Lovers, "I guess love's a funny thing the way it fades away without a warning." Man, I love this song. |

| so I finally got around to watching Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael & I can say it was the perfect sample to put in the beginning of this song. I first commented on this song back in 2006, I saw them perform this song live in 2008 & now it's 2011 & it's still my favorite song of all time. beautiful & true. "& say we couldn’t tell the difference between the feeling and the sound." when you're at a show, especially a basement show or a tiny venue, the music is everywhere, you can't escape it. I love this line because I know exactly what it's like to be surrounded by music like that & be so enveloped by the music you love that there comes a point where everything just blends together and you just become part of the music. & the line about "stranger boys & girls" comes in here too because there are people packed in on top of you that you don't even know, but it's ok because you're all there to enjoy the music, to feel the music. It's a very powerful thing, a very beautiful thing. I feel bad for people who don't get the opportunity to experience music like that, it's really an amazing experience. |

Is Jesse or any of the band religious at all? Or is this more of a questioning god type thing? There are so many religious references on this album and it's kind of throwing me off a bit because I don't think they've ever mentioned god before, or religion at all. Aside from that, I think this song is probably my favorite on the new album. I can pretty much directly relate to this song, because I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend. He lives in Arizona and I live in NY/PA. So the first verse I can really relate to because sometimes I go crazy because he's not here and because we both love each other so much that it just gets to me, and then we can't see each other, so we rely on speaking on the phone. & with the whole "I hope things haven't changed" is another scary part in a long distance relationship because once you finally see the other person, you don't know if they're the same as the last time you saw them. & making up for time that you've lost is always VERY fun. if you know what I mean. |

Alright, I fixed the lyrics, sorry it took so long. Ever since I got to college I've had limited access to the internet, but now I'm stable. They played this song when I saw them that day and it was probably the best song of their set. The whole clapping part in the middle was a lot of fun and Aaron was a madman like usual. After trying to get the lyrics from this song, it really make me like it a lot more. I love the verse "a fish swims in the sea...", it's so fun with the clapping, it's great. I tried my best with the lyrics, I think I did alright. The foreign language or whatever it is...forget it. We can wait for the CD to actually come out for that. But yeah, the CD is great, love it. I was driving home from the movies the other night at around 11:30pm. This song came on and I just decided to really listen to it. Not sing along, not dance around the car like an idiot, just really LISTEN to it. And let me tell you, this song really hit me like a ton of bricks. Wow. This is probably the most intense Thursday song I've ever heard. I still think back to seeing them play this live and I just want to cry. Just seeing all the emotion on the stage and how the guitars sounded and how Geoff sang and just, UGH. So fucking intense. This song is full of so many sacred things. The whole religious theme to this song is what makes it so powerful. I'm not a religious person at all, but this song just makes you think about so many things. I totally agree with the person who posted a comment above me. I've seen Thursday around 10 times and I've never seem them play a song this intense before. There is just so much more I want to say about this song, but I don't know how to say it. It just hits me. And next time you all listen to this song, REALLY listen to it. Don't sing, don't move around, just sit and listen to it. You'll appreciate it a lot more. |

So uh, nobody really posted what this song was about, so I guess I will. I saw them on april 29th and may 2nd, and I can't remember which show it was at, but Geoff told the audience the meaning of this song. A few years ago when Thursday was on tour with Poison the Well, they were on board a plane going to Austrailia or coming back from Austrailia or something, and as they were landing, the plane tipped over to one side and started to skid on the wing and all the boys on board thought they were going to die in this "crash". So yeah, that's where Geoff got the inspiration to write this song. I knew about that whole incident, but I never linked this song with it until Geoff told everyone at the show that night. It makes you appreciate the song a lot more. |
