| Roadrunner United – In the Fire Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Could King Diamond be any cooler? The answer is clearly no. It's got a theme of how the Salem Witch trials are happening anew today. Clever metaphorical use of witches, actually. "In the fire, to Hell… and then I die… Oh it's still the same Can you tell me why? Witches then are Witches today" People are still being burned at the stake, just in different ways. |

| Roadrunner United – Army of the Sun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Best song on the album hands down. His love died, he's sad now. | |
| Nevermore – Sentient 6 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Warrel stated that this song is The Learning Part II: a robot comes to Earth, realizes that we suck, kills everyone. Wicked song. | |

| I don't even understand where you came up with the sexual abuse thing. I honestly don't see it. | |
| Nevermore – The Seven Tongues of God Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Loomis does the solo from 4:00 to 4:54. Watched him to it live. Anything Pat may have done in the recording, I'm pretty sure Loomis just lifted it by ear. :P | |
| Atheist – Unholy War Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Basically, it's an atheistic song about not believing in God and not being able to understand why those who are religious try to force it upon those who are not religious. Also, how religion is dumb in general. | |
| Mastodon – March of the Fire Ants Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The best song on Remission, hands down. Anywho, Mastodon's lyrics are always so ominous and seemingly meaningless, and he just needs syllables to go with the snare shots in the songs. *shrug* | |
| A Life Once Lost – Vulture Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's "Can you feel this uproar? Festering desire in my thoughts." Anyways, this is definitely my favourite track off of the new album. Wicked song. |

| The Dillinger Escape Plan – Sunshine The Werewolf Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
My take on it is that a girlfriend cheated on him, he was superpissed at her, and now he's saying that this is the only chance she ever had for happiness, and without him she is pointless. The violence is metaphorical, I think. "don't try to swim to shore because you can't go back" Those lines are probably my favourite in the song. He's saying how she chose to swim out there in the first place, and he is the shore, and she's not coming back to him. |

| The Dillinger Escape Plan – Panasonic Youth Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think that it might have to do with Capitalism gone wrong (its current state). The plans being the constitution and the following of the government's rules until the Constitution became something that it was never intended to be. But I may be way off. | |
| Demons and Wizards – My Last Sunrise Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think it's either a person's loss of faith and sacking of religion, or detailing the crucifixion of Jesus. | |
| The Dillinger Escape Plan – Hollywood Squares Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Come to Daddy was the worst off of Irony is a Dead Scene. And this song is all about how everything is left to chance, though I can't decipher the rest. | |
| The Dillinger Escape Plan – Pig Latin Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is one of my favourites. It tells the story of a man in a coma, and how he can see everything and notices everyone and everything around him, but he eventually just fades off into the distance. The "long goodbye" is the coma. | |
| The Dillinger Escape Plan – When Good Dogs Do Bad Things Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
My favourite Dillinger song along with Pig Latin and 43% Burnt. The meaning: Gren901 pretty much got from it what I got from it: A couple breaking up in a diner. |

Saw these guys about a month ago. They always finish with this song. Their live show is by far the best I've ever seen. Jazz solo is absolutely spectacular. Their new vocalist is just as good, if not better than Dimitri. And the ending is the best way to go out of a concert... Anyways, the song's meaning: This song is about arrogance and people thinking that they're better than others simply because of appearance. The singer wants to "crack and chip off" and "spit on" the beautiful person and bring them down to his level. I imagine the brick is for the mangling of theface of a self-absorbed beauty. |

| Deftones – My Own Summer (Shove It) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Okay, maybe this is just me and I'm crazy, but I personally think it has something to do with drugs or drug abuse, though I know that's cliche. Anyways: "hey you, big mood, guide me to shelter `cause i'm through when the two hits the six and it's summer" I think "guide me to shelter" is either the drugs shielding him from everyday life or his asking friends to help him away from drugs. "cloud come (shove it)*3 shove (shove it)*3 the sun (shove it)*3 aside (shove it aside)" I think that the sun is the metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel after drug rehabilitation, but someone always ends up going back into the proverbial shade (drugs). "i think god is moving it's tongue there are no crowds in the streets and no sun in my own summer" I think that "God moving its tongue" is saying how God is taunting him, and how he wants to somehow be released from the drugs, but he's stuck in that horrible place with no sun or people because of his addiction. Perhaps the drug user secludes themselves from society? "the shade is a tool, a device, a savior see, i try and look up to the sky but my eyes burn" The shade being drugs, it seems like an escape, and every time he tries to look up at the sky (free himself from the drugs), he is unable to because his "eyes burn." (it's hard for him). That's my take on the song, anyhow. It's completely different from everyone else's, which makes me think it has nothing to do with the actual meaning, but it works if you think about it. |
