at the end of the song there are sounds like a train makes going over the tracks. ,maybe the person in the beginning who sees towns pass by his window is in a train. i don't know what the religious references mean tho. |

| Bright Eyes – Exaltation on a Cool, Kitchen Floor Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| What an incredible understated, underrated, sweet song. I feel exactly this way about a girl. It is one of my favorite Bright Eyes songs...I love it so much. The imagery is so simple but so meaningful, so easily visualized, it's profound. | |
| Hum – Suicide Machine Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This is my favorite HUM song. My favorite part of this song is the last stanza, that starts with "somewhere through a thousand blues. . ." His voice is usually the calm, unmoving center of a symphonic storm of rock, but when he sings this it sounds as if he's been swept up into the sky and can't help but let his voice be drawn into the music he's made. The song makes me think of two people that are holding each other up and loving each other, even as they inadvertantly drag each other down, perhaps without even realizing it...such a beautiful song. |
