| I always assumed it was "We tongue turn out hate in factories", as in we speak hatred and evil-ness, etc | |

This song is easy guys. It's about dealing with your problems and growing up, mostly. He's having a hard time in his life, so he's saying hey lets get fucked up. The whole dying thing is just him exxagerating. He says he's already dead, but he still has his memories. But are the memories a lie? Then in the first chorus, he starts thinknig about being young again, and wishing he still was because it was easier when you were young and didn't have shit to wrry about. Basically being nostalgic. 2nd verse is basically him saying okay, so it was all a lie and now I'm a mess. I've got some short comings, but fuck it, that's who I am. 2nd chorus is him cherishing the thoughts and memories again, saying it was good while it was happening and I thank you for that. Being nostalgic again. Thinking about all the good times, maybe some of the illegal things they did together. 3rd verse, he's basically saying we're gonna get real drunk tonight. He knows one day he'll be okay, it'll just take time. He doesn't REALYL need to drink to get by it, but for now, fuck it...He's gonna drink and get fucked up and have a good time. 3rd chorus is him telling whatever friend it is that he's thankful that she's there to listen to him talk about all this shit, and she's been a big help. And he doesn't know how he'll ever repay her for it. Then they get to the liquor store and it's closed so he's basically like "Fuck. goddamnit." Think of the song as a long conversation with a friend. He's talking about his problems to her and saying hey lets get drunk tonight I wanan get fucked up. So on their way to the liquor store he rambles on about memories and feeling nostalgic and whatever else. Then they get there and the store's closed and that sucks. The end. |

This is what I'm getting for the backround vocals in the end... I don't know what to say but you don't make a sound We don't know our rights from our wrong, (This is the one I'm the least sure about) It's the greatest of love Don't say you won't be scared then leave Don't mention all the good there would be Don't say he's alone to increase the flow |

| Jack's Mannequin – MFEO: Part 1: Made for Each Other/Part 2: You Can Breathe Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Yes, everyone, it IS about drugs. But yes, everyone, it IS a love song. That's the reason why it's two parts. The entire CD is about the summer...and what, up until this song, has the entire CD been about? Wasting time getting wasted with friends, and the different love interests that entered and exited Andrews life. This song was a two parter with double meanings to wrap up the summer/BOTH sides of hte story. The first song is probably about one last banger/looking back on all the days he spent with his friends getting totally fucked up on cocaine, weed, alky, cigs, etc. "maybe, we were made, we were made for each other" as in me, my friends, and all these drugs...we are made for each other. I wish the world could look the way it does when I'm high with my friends ALL the time. Just think beach parties and drugs and drinking heavily. This one last huge end of summer party is what wraps up that part of the story. The second part, You Can Breathe, is meant to wrap up the love interest part of the summer story. He probably saw whichever "her" it was one last time, possibly in the rain...maybe he picked her up from somewhere...and they get in the car and get talking and the "break up" we saw that happened in tracks 8 and 9 has kind of created a suffocating feeling. But he picks her up, maybe she needed a ride...she knows he's probably going away again soon...they get to talking..next thing you know, it's "another night" they spend getting busy in the car...the windows steam up, hence you "can't see through".....And it's a great night, but it kind of leaves a bittersweetness...on one hand, you aren't not speaking or hate each other...but now he's back where he started at the beggining of the summer, wondering "where are you now?" as can be heard in the backround at the end. Drugs/partying/friends and love. Two parts of a song for two stories that needed to be wrapped up. |

I think you people are taking the song way too literally. Simple explination-Summer romance. He wasn't sure if he wanted it to be more then that or not, and he kinda tools the girl around a bit....goes out, gets with other girls, etc....But then he realizes it's her he wants. The whole "youll be missed" part is just how their love will be...She'll no longer be available, no other guys out there can have her, cause she's all his now...and they're completely wrapped up in each other. He's just saying she won't be around and about on the beach/in town anymore, because she'll be at home with him. |

| Actually, I got the impression that she means he wants his hands to touch more then the piano....as in, touch her, physically, physical contact, sexual, sensual....sexuality is a big theme on this CD, and that probably stems from the fact that being laid up in the hospital hasn't afforded him much time to share any sensual/sexual moments with certain loved ones. | |

| This is one of Matt's best written songs.....He even gives us a rare guitar solo that isn't just chords.....good stuff | |

This is what I got from the song. This is part of my review of the album for another site If We Never Go Inside-Perhaps Dan's best entry on the CD....And His last...And I can see why, becuase thsi song would of ended the CD perfectly...but Skiba has an acoustic song coming up, so instead this song just ends of Dan's portion of the CD off....a song about change, growing up, losing friends...and perhaps, now that he is getting (got) married, he is looking back on the past...the friends that have come and gone...and perhaps thatt first love he was talknig about in "She Took Him TOo THe Lake"...Because he sings probably one of the most prolific and stand out love lines we've ever heard from the Trio..."The night never ends if we never go inside...the moon is always full...your calendar, is always pinned on summertime"...He once again brings up a summertime in his life that he wished, and maybe somewhere deep inside still wishes, would never end...Perhaps eluding to that first love that none of us ever forget...He once gain has an AMAZING hook towards the end of the song, one of the most powerful hooks I've ever heard...and he ends that hook sadly..."Helps you pikc through beat up insides..."...And the references to old gorups of friends are evident throughout the song..."We made up rules to follow for good...no wonder we're (by we're, he pretty much means himself), some of us did"...and the chorus...just a great song. Basically....let me put it to you like this....If they were to make a video for this song, it would start off witd Dan standing at the alter about to say "I do"....the camera zooms into his eye....the music starts...The band is jamming in Dan's childhood neighborhood...with "young Dan" hanging out with his friends....and with that first love that Dan sung "She Took Him To The Lake"...I see young Dan laying in a field with the girl just as the "the night never ends" line starts.....Somthnig like taht.....Dan's thinking about all his past friends and his first love just as he's geting married... That's my opinion |
