I completely agree with you, CocoSaintClair...however, this is by far their weakest song. If this was the first song Give it All heard by them, no wonder you like them more each time you hear another one of their songs...this is their most poppy song. But anyway, Rise Against is definately the best band out there. |

I love this song. It always reminds me of my best friend, because I met her when I was in Kingergarten and for some reason, I have very vivid memories of that time. Sometimes I get a little choked up when I hear it because I've been friends with her for 15 years :) |

I think this song is about Heroin Withdrawel and depression...drug use and depression are commonly linked. What Chem-7 says makes a lot of sense. I know people who have gone through withdrawel and the symptoms are very similar to Kurt's. The line "distill the life that's inside of me" could refer to his struggle with addiction. He wanted to purify himself of drugs and depression. I dont think one can take this song literally...there are a lot of metaphors in there. |

I don't really agree...this can be true with or without fake people. Some people use alcohol as a crutch, whether that be to give them confidence, make them artificially happy, etc... I think that's what this song is saying, and that doesn't just apply to fake people. |

As I read through all of these posts, I realize why I love Bad Religion so much. Just look at the discussions going on. It makes me very happy to know that their music inspires people to think. Although peoples' views are divided, the important thing is that this song causes us to stop for a moment and consider what is going on in the world. I think, overall, that's what the band is going for. |
