I don't really understand Princess's mentality. I mean, if you don't like Blink 182 then don't look at their lyrics and certainly don't troll the forum. It makes you look like a child. And the pidgin English you use doesn't help. For Christ's sake, learn to fucking spell. I know you're probably doing it on purpose but it's certainly not helping your argument any.
By the way, your taste in music fucking sucks too. Who the fuck listens to Slipknot? Nothing -- NOTHING -- is lamer than a bunch of heavy-metal geeks wearing masks and playing shitty music. And if you're trying to win an argument don't say Korn is good. That's like instant death. Earn yourself some decent music you mongoloid.
Finally, what's with your anti-America sentiment? Jesus fucking Christ, it's not like you HAVE to listen to American music. Europe has a TON of good bands. Listen to some Spiritualized or Doves. It's the fucking British press that keeps hyping American bands anyway. The Strokes and The White Stripes would be unheard of if NME didn't shit themselves every time they sang a song. Get over it. |

Yeah, they may sound a bit like Joy Division but is that a bad thing? It's not as though they're a direct rip-off either, it's just a similarity. I think Interpol sounds pretty fucking good. Turn on the Bright Lights is one of my favorite CDs this year. |

| Elliott Smith – Waltz #2 Lyrics

I read a bio on Elliott Smith that seemed to imply that this song was about his mother and her new husband. Apparently this guy wasn't too nice (he's the one saying, "you're no good, you're no good," I think). Anyway, Elliott moved away from Texas (where his mom lived) and went to Portland (where his dad lived). When he says "I'm never gonna know you now" I take it to mean "I'll never get to see you". |

Gren901 knows what he's talking about. Dashboard sucks. Dashboard's 'emo' sucks. makeoutclub.com rejects suck. Oh, and this song sucks too. What's with that hair part? Christ. All of this guy's songs are about the same damn thing. How can you people think he's genuine? He's a phony.
The only thing he's good for is introducing people to "underground" music and, hopefully, some good bands. Do everyone a favor and don't buy this CD. If you do buy it you'll be ashamed of yourself in a year. Trust me on this one. |

| Elliott Smith – Needle in the Hay Lyrics

I know lyrics are open to interpretation but I think this song is very clearly about drugs (specifically heroin). The term "man" has been used as a euphemism for "drug-dealer" since the Velvet Underground and possibly before. And, of course, how can you ignore the constant references to needles?
My own personal theory on this song is this: It's about a girl who's addicted to heroin and who's going out with some guy. The line, "sometimes they just get caught in the eye," refers to how the people who love drug users tend to get hurt. "you're pulling him through," seems to imply that the guy has started using heroin too but he's denying it, "he's acting dumb... you say you know what he did." "he's wearing your clothes" could be interpreted literally or figuratively (as in, he's becoming like you). I'm also inclined to believe that the point of view switches from an observer to the girl herself in the second half but I may just be simplifying things.
'course, I'm probably way off. |
