Good job ScalewagJim, although insulting someone lowers you to their level, im sure someone as bright as you knows this. No need for name calling. I do totally agree with you though, i love my favorite bands, and ever great once in awhile i find a new favorite. Ill never stop loving them (exception being TBS, why the fuck did you guys go and fuck up something so great with the petty problems you sing out against). Enjoy the music for what it is, and applaud the bands for getting the recognition they have worked so hard for. Dont be so selfish people... And if you think you can do it better, then get to it. |

| P.S. all poetry isnt Shakespear. Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot, and the fireside poets (look it up on any search engine) are some of my favorites. If you take the time to explore it, poetry can be quite rewarding as i have found out. Give it a try! | |

First off, i bought the cd the exact day it came out in stores, and have been listening it consistantly since June. The CD is just amazing. I wanted to post to tell you all what you have been missing, as i have quite recently discovered this myself. People have noticed the way in which these new bands write, "in a way no one would ever think of." Well, its called poetry, and its quite amazing, and people have been doing it for 100's and thousands of years. The truth is there is no better way to express emotion or feelings then poetry, and most of the songs bands like Brand New, Thursday, or TBS write could easily be called lyrical sonnant, albeit with no meter or rhyme. In short, im trying to say that all of you should give many of the established poets a whirl, and maybe youll discover something about yourself. Scratch that, i garentee you will. Poetry is an amazing tool for expression, even if your just a reader, or in this case, a listener. |

I cant believe how amazing this entire CD is. Ive been listening to Thursday for probably almost 2 years now, and they never get old. Whenever I feel down or miserable, or even depressed, Thursday is always there for a lift-me-up. In this song geoff tells a story and as ussual uses it to define the very essance of social struggling. He uses his own stories in his songs, and some people think he may be selfish, but he uses them in a way that we can all relate, in all of his songs. Thursday doesnt try to teach you something you dont already know or dont already have inside of you, they just make you realize it. Idle how can you not agree with their ideals, you live in society dont you? They just try to bring answers to the daily confusions of life i believe, or at least thats what i get out of them. I am greatful there are a handfull of bands out there writting from hearts and not there pockets, and i dont think i will ever grow old of truth. |
