I find it hilarious that every house-punk anarchist and dimestore neuroanalyst that's posted so far automatically assumes that the singer agrees with the girl he's quoting. I think matdamc is on the right track, but I disagree about the "they just fucked" aspect. It seems like a matter-of-fact retelling of a series of events. How the singer feels about what the girl is blabbing is left out intentionally. He obviously wants her words to be the focus of the song.
That said, modern feminist ideals are intensely skewed and feminism in general is more about vengeance for imaginary or co-opted crimes (i.e. self-victimization) than it is about equality. In other words, most feminists are full of shit and have never been subject to any more unfair bias than your average fat dude. |

I like to think of it a different way. I think he's dating a younger girl, Josie. He has a an old friend, possibly an ex-girlfriend, over to catch up. The line "you know I like my girls a little bit older" in this case would be directed towards the old friend/ex, who he confesses that he's missed terribly. "I don't have many friends left to talk to" - they're reminiscing about their time together and friends they used to have. He wants one last fling to remember the way things used to be, but he doesn't want to lose the ex as a friend because she still means a lot to him. |

the kids arent dead yet fellas, that was a rumor that someone started on the co&ca msg boards that (if you actually read his posts) claudio never substantiated. they are mentioned still locked in the floor in i think godsend and also in velourium camper iii. what happens in this song is a part of claudio's vision of events that take place AFTER this album. later on in iks claudio asks jesse to keep these things from happening (blood red summer). the "jesse just come look" line is from cambria. coheed dies in time with junesong provisions when it cuts to his ship going down (just after the first verse, the "narris and larry.. gloria to nowhere.. blah.. son, ill see you in my sleep" part).
oh, and CHILL OUT WITH THE CAPS. this is for ppl to exchange ideas about the songs meanings, there is no reason to act like a jerk just because you disagree with something.

craignot: youre kinda right. claudio has been in hiding since before sstb. he didnt know what happened to his his parents (co & ca) until ambellina came and told him. she became human so she could help him do what needs to be done to save the universe. she WAS one of the prise, angellic beings whose purpose is to defend the 7 powerstar transformers (the "circles" .. also represented by circles on the album cover of iks) that keep the keywork in place (the keywork is the triangle). |

this is part of Claudio's dreamy vision that started in Neverender. the vision continues on through track 4. basically Newo Ikkin answers the phone and in hearing Newo's voice Claudio is transported to her where he says hello to Apollo (her dog) and turns to Newo and begins the story of what happened with Jesse in the past. keep in mind that the past in the vision is Jesse's future at this point. confused? yea... =\ it would be easier to figure out if we had a story to read. i cant wait ^^ |

all anyone (cept the C-Bomb) knows about the I Robots is: Jesse creates them, they have incredible powers, and they "will never die" .. aside from that, just read the lyrics from I Robot and the bonus track from IKS. i dont think Jesse has made them yet in any albums released, because (and this is just speculation) i believe Jesse is defending Claudio's other 3 siblings with the I Robots in Cladio's vision (we are talking tracks 2-3 in IKS) and i think the events in the vision actually take place after the alum IKS and part of the track "Blood Red Summer" is Claudio telling Jesse, his uncle, about the visions and asking him to keep those things from happening. if you listen closely Claudio asks "in a pain that buckles out your knees, could you stop this if i plea?" to which Jesse replies "you got it, you got it, you got it" .. this is just one way to look at it, but its the one that seems to make the most sense out of all the theories i have read. well, i hope that helped. |

im pretty sure the camper series are about Newo Ikking asking Al to take her to Earth to meet with Claudio cause she is sick of waiting for him to die. He rapes her and then falls in love with her but overhears a her phone conversation with Claudio and realizes he could never have her. thats when he decides to allow his murderous tendencies to surface. pretty straight forward.. immagine her saying "youll have me only over my dead body" then read the chorus. In the next song Claudio rescues her. |

in this song Claudio is talking to Jesse, his uncle, Coheeds brother. all the "you got it" parts are Jesse replying to Claudio. Basically now Ambellina has told Claudio everything that happened and what he has to do and he talks to Jesse for guidance. Claudio is absolutely torn up inside and doesnt want any part of this. After this talk he decides to go find Newo Ikkin. and eternity is right about the "even number your nephew" line: Claudio is Coheed/Cambria's 2nd son of 4 and Jesse is Coheed's brother - he is actually Jesse's first nephew technically because Josephine is the oldest and that would make Mathew, the youngest child, the second nephew.. but whatever it is definitely Claudio. |

this song is about Jesse being questioned and murdered by the army that captured him. he is torn apart, burned, and discarded. the second part is someone, possibly Ambellina of the Prise who was sent to help out Claudio or maybe the surviving members of Jesse's militia (I Robots? not sure yet. Jesse does eventually make the I Robots), finding him and bringing him back to life. Jesse is the "redeemer" because he gave his life to save his love. keep in mind that this is still part of Claudio's vision. Claudio wakes up in the next song. |

this is where the attack i mentioned in the previous song comes, im not gonna reetype the whole thing, so check that out before replying to/reading this. the chorus takes place after everything else in the song, so ignore those lyrics till the end. basically the forces (possibly the infamous Red Army) attack and Jesse's troops struggle to hold them off. The forces make it inside and kill the children. Jesse is enraged when he finds out and storms the enemies in an emotional last stand. At one point he sees that Chase, a girl he has dreamed about and secretly loved, was among the captured troops. He gives (something) to one of the troops to give to her (knowing that he will not survive), and turns himself over in exchange for the release of the prisoners/Chase. the opposing forces accept because Jesse is Coheed's brother. Next up, Jesse is interrogated and killed. Check out Three evils.. |

this song, along with the next one, is part of a dreamy vision in which Claudio is home with Newo and Apollo, her dog, after everything happens and is telling her the story of what heppend in the past (which at this point in the timeline is the present). it may sound confusing, but it is a dreamy kind of vision thing, so when you hear the phone/comlink ring in track one and Newo Ikkin answers the phone, the ship sound is Claudio (one of Coheed and Cambria's four children) returning to her in the future and when he gets there he says hello to the the dog, and turns to Newo and says "where should i begin?" anyway, this part of the vision is trough Jesse's eyes (Coheed's brother) as he prepares to defend Coheed and Cambria's other three children, Maria, Mathew, and Josephine, who are locked in a hiding space in the floor, from an attacking army who wishes to kill Coheeds children cause they may have inherited some of his powers and could still save the universe. Jesse is a little jealous of this because he wants to be the hero. Mathew, the youngest, has some of Coheed's power (thats what that line is about). The "vision that bears the gift" is Claudio. Will is Coheed's real name. when he says the line "for you, i'd do anything,.." he is talking to Coheed. the line "for them i would kill anything.." is still to Coheed, talking about Coheed's children. the chorus is directed to the small army that Jesse has with him "man your battlestations, we'll have you home/dead pretty soon" he knows they are not likely to survive thisattack. (a quick tidbit about claudio, anytime he writes about "coming home" or "going to sleep" its almost always referring to death). the "seventh turning hour" line expresses Jesse's doubts about the upcoming battle and his ability to protect the troops and the children. great song. the actual attack comes in the next song where Jesse gets to be the hero he wanted to be. |

its 78 planets i think. anyhow, this is Claudio talking to his parents who are still on another planet and still alive (far as he knows, theyre both actually dead). at this point in the story he goes to sleep and the next album starts within the "vision" he has while sleeping. Claudio is "The Crowing" aka "The Vision that Bears the Gift" and has visions just like his father (Coheed has a dreamy vision about Jesse and I Robots in Delirium Trigger). |

not to poop on anyones theories, but if this is the point when coheed and cambria meet after the syrum, then whats up with the line "when eye meets eye" in godsend conspirator. i think the event of the second stage turbine blade, as claudio puts it, happens just after godsend. regardless, at the beginning of the second album the only ppl alive in the family are claudio and jesse so this might be about someone else dying. whoever it is, its definitely coheed's doing. |

i think that was just a typo Mizerok, but regardless: its actually "Maria"
Mariah is a different character who (insert insane theory here). Personally i like the theory that "Coheed" and "Cambria" are just nicknames and their real names are "Will" and "Mariah"
It makes sense if you listen to Godsend Conspirator and In Keeping secrets. Coheed is singing to Cambria about "when eye meets eye" which is when the serum takes effect.. when they meet eyes, so Mariah is most likely Cambria. In Keeping Secrets is largely directed to Coheed, from Jesse, so it makes sense that this "Will" hes calling out to is actually just Coheed himself, his dead brother by that point. |
