Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics 18 years ago
But I guess by way of the song being so rhythmic, that it is implied as necessary that you either do or do not try your rhythm at it through your dancing. So beyond the premise itself, for it individual person in the real world, the idea that it is a tautology will become readily apparent because if you are dancing, then you either will be having rhythm proper or you will not. But in the end, it's all subjective judgments, and, of course, all in your head(s).

Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics 18 years ago
And if he's referring—though it isn't expressedly apparent—to the issue of future contingents, it has been arguably resolved by Aristotle and Leibniz independently. What's more, "you have it or you don't" is not a claim about a perceived actual future event but only the potential of an event to be. Therefore, this line would by definition be a tautology and not a fallacy or a paradox since it is not a claim bound to a specific temporal event.

Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood Lyrics 18 years ago
Actually, "Rhythm, you have it or you don't, that's a fallacy" is inaccurate usage of terms.

R v -R is a tautology which isn't a fallacy in the formal or informal sense. But it is similar to a fallacy or a contradiction in that it conveys no information.

"I'm pretty awkward at this sort of thing. You're great and all, but the best I can give you is sporadic bursts of inconsistent affection and fun. I'm sure there's someone far better than I at you, but trust me, I've tried my best, if only you could see that. Anyway, remember the awkward moments and what fun they wrought."

The Books – Smells Like Content Lyrics 18 years ago
Judging by the track placing, mere presence in this album, and lack of conceptual consistency with the other tracks of this album, I have a feeling this song didn't just happen after a short period. It was probably in the works since their beginning, and despite its pleasant sounding nature, melodic soothing, easy beauty, it is highly offensive to any sort of dogmatic believer, any sort of non-thinker, any person who feels their uninformed opinion deserves respect. It is pretty offensive to everyone under the sun.

I won't say it is impeccably written or perfect, but the lyrics are highly aware of itself and what it's saying. It just seems that way to me.

And that these truths which we find we actually within us all along.

"and therein lies the garnered wisdom
that has never died"

It is ultimate awareness gradually becoming aware of itself.

@Thief-:

I agree. Though it's also that people are more and more starting to recognise reality for what it is, and though it is seemingly bleak, we should recognise every science we create, every opinion we make as nothing more than expectations we build for ourselves. These lyrics suggest the path to nothingness we will eventually find ourselves.

Off Minor – Willow Weep For Me Lyrics 19 years ago
Inherently socially vapid and ignorant but feels as if he or she is being pulled back by that nagging feeling, that "requirement," to be social and "alive" like everybody else.

Furthermore, let me love for the sake of enduring love. Some believe love is important, and they follow suit.
Some believe love isn't important, and they ignore it.
Well, some know love isn't important, but their emotions are against their thinking. It's a pity to be trapped in this easily amused vessels.

Off Minor – Problematic Courtship Lyrics 19 years ago
Two people aware of all their problems yet nowhere near understanding the others. They're not necessarily in love, but they're fond of one another.

The speaker is aware of this, and he or she knows it is inevitable that although they're probably the perfect match for each other, they're also the worst. The each know this. They each know nothing can ever happen between them.

At a point, they're just reciting their own "farewell" to the image they have of each other they have in their mind. People such as these should never even meet. It's like experiencing your worst moments in front of the mirror.

Saetia – The Burden Of Reflecting Lyrics 21 years ago
Rememberance has led the speaker to his plight. In the midst of his dwelling, he's found himself losing control, losing grips with himself, becoming alienated by his own happiness of past times. Doubt of his future resides, somuchso that he'd give anything to return to times which he cherished most.

Saetia – Corporeal Lyrics 21 years ago
The speaker is angry at the fact that he's been overshadowed by a model, a theme, a "sculpture." Something that only exists in our mind's eye has, seemingly, to his perception, defeated him finally in the struggle we all face, our perceptions versus ourselves. We all want to destroy what we actually cherish. Our visions of "beauty" lead us while also leaving us to our own dismay.

Saosin – Seven Years Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is an allegory of his unstable faith and his inability to fully put his trust in God. Possibly over a seven year period?

"Test my arms, kick like crazy
And Ive been trying way to long"

This briefly suggests the test that he's had to endure in his life and how he feels it is God administering this test. Then,

"I would find a way without you
(tell him his eyes see too clear),"

conveys his trying to do things without God, and totally losing his faith. However, "...his eyes too clear," lets you know that his faith is always haunting him, pulling him back.

He feels as if he's being cheated, for one, which is why he can't totally trust God.

"seven years you assured me
that Id be fine if I complied,"

suggests this. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm not sure" feeds right into his inability to trust God or not due to the circumstances that have come to pass.

Finally, the last two lines are a dead give away to my idea that this is about his faith. They tell the listener that he feels remorse for not totally trusting God and also blaming him for the negatives that have occured in his life. He is begging for mercy.

Methinks.
Truly amazing song, even though I'm not Christian. I missed out on "that mistake was gold," but that's pretty obvious, going by my analysis of the song. Good screams and good melody.
