surely one of my favorite songs... this song reminds me a lot of the famous quotes about letting go of love, and if it comes back, it truly was always yours to have, and if not, it never was. it's- to me- saying, i'm always going to support you, and i'll always leave the light on, but this may be your turn to shine, with or without me. my favorite line is also 'my greatest fear will be that you will crash and burn and i won't feel your fire.' i think that is similar to when you and another break off from your relationship, and then you will always support them, and when they get hurt, your not even so significant to them anymore that your support would make a difference in their healing and it's as if you can do nothing for them. for me, it's about possibly breaking your heart for the better life of another, or knowing that it's just time to move on even though you thought things were perfect. |

| for some reason... i'm drawn to this song... i like the lyrics, and i'm definitley not a "hip hop" girl. the beat has this crisp freshness to it, that makes you WANT to sing along. i think it's about knowing somebody/meeting someone.. and then later on you get together and it works out so well that you don't want anyone else, and you'd never imagine how perfect you are for each other (I never thought you'd be the one to make shine brighter than the sun) and how if that person loves you back, you'll do anything and love them as long as you can. | |
