quiffporn, if you don't like Powerman 5000, why do you listen to their music? And go to the bother of commenting on a band you don't like? You're fucking stupid. Is anyone actually going to put in a song meaning? I think this song is about two completely uncompatible people who are trying to fit in but circumstances fuck everything up, or about aliens taking over the world... this is a pretty dam abstract song when it comes to the meaning, but it FUCKING ROCKS! |

I want to go through this song and point out some of the things this song means to me. I don't think he's mourning over his dead girlfriend, because to me the song only implies an emotional death or the end of a relationship. I think "the angel from my nightmare" is saying she was the thing that helped him get out of his problems. I haven't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, but I'm going to assume the Jack and Sally part is right, because it makes no sense to me in any other context. I think the part about "spiders catching things, and eating their insides" is about how the end of their relationship makes him feel as though he is being eaten from the inside emotionally. Her voice of treason would probably be her saying she loved him, then dumping him, the voice betraying what it has already said. Fuck, how should I know, I've written a few songs myself, but I usually go for a completely blatantly obvious point, with underlying emotion in between. To me "Don't waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head" is saying that he wants to move on, but he'll always love her, he just needs to get away. I guess that's all I can think of for this song. |
