Owen – Note to Self: Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The Junior Varsity – Demo Car City Lyrics | 19 years ago |
They're a really good band. Ive grown tireless seeing all this good talent go to waste in the wake of some of the bands that are becoming "mainstream" on the radio. They're playing a more old school style of indie I like. |
Jimmy Eat World – Shame Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Excellent song. One of the best songs they've made in the futures project...and its not even on the album. The guitar verse halfway through the song is killer. |
Jimmy Eat World – The World You Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
First of all, valerie, you dont have the chorus right whatsoever. Its not, we're only just as happy as everyone else seems to be Its.. "Were only just as happy as everyone seems to think we are" Anyways, when the song was first played live, the track listing on the set list read "suicide" as the title for this song. Im under the impression that in a very bitter-sweet way, this song is ultimately depressing to me. Definately along the lines of being young (perhaps drug use?) dont know. But its a damn good song. |
Jimmy Eat World – 23 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Jim was around 23 when the work for their album clarity was released/made. It makes me wonder if this song is based on that point in his life... Regardless, its one of the most amazing pieces of work adkins has ever released. Its very honest seems to give an insight look at the struggles and complications of being young and making life-changing descisions (not matter what they may be). Its been said before, but ill say it again - Jimmy eat world is one of the best at what they do. |
The Moirai – Crucifixion As an Art Form Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the song. The music. The lyrics. The singing. The climax. but our skin got stretched so far, we never realized it could break. excellent line. This band is a-fucking-mazing. |
The Moirai – Last Year for Halloween I Was a Ghost Lyrics | 19 years ago |
let me kiss the lipstick on your face. let me smear the lipstick from your face. This song is AMAZING. The recognition of loss and the conflicts between dealing about a past relationship perhaps ( (?) Applies exclusively between the lyrics and lines. Im also very fond of the way the band manages to use their music twith the aid of the lyrics written to compliment the situation being described. One example is the line "im not ready for the aftermath, i turn the panic on again" , the changeup after he sings that when the music speeds up. Hence, when people panic, everything moves so fast in your mind. Brian carley is such an amazing writer and the moirai, is probably single-handedly the best indie/rock band out to date. They're going to be huuuuge. |
The Moirai – Empathy for Your Enemy/Hostile to the Helpless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I can relate to this so much. I love the imagery described. The creativity that went into writing a song that begins with the nostalgia in a past relationship and the reflective discription explaining how life is now, without that significant other to depend on. Also, the materialistic metaphors used to share the differences, using a kicthen to now eat in and a bed to sleep in (when in fact it wasn't always that way). Case and point - We are all creatures of habit. |
The December Drive – NO remembering Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Errr...this is a little irritating. You missed some really good lines in this song (and its an amazing song). "Tattoo these words on your lips" Has to be one of the coolest lines in any song ever and i dont see it in here. Good effort though. |
Number One Fan – There Went The World Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Lyrically, this is probably the most impressive work (in my opinion) that number one fan has put out. It seems to portray a current relationship being tarnished by the hopelessnes a girl due to a past relationship that completely fractured her outlook on what love means and should be. Thus, the nature of these fears and doubts can sometimes get the best of us and what we make of our present love interest. The singer is in conflict with the realization that she is too hurt to continue on with him. |
Number One Fan – It's Happening Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I think this was the first song that really caught my attention from number one fan. You can hear the honesty and emotion floating around in the depth of the singer's voice and the end of it is just so beautiful. They deserve more recognition than what they get. Great band. |
Number One Fan – Sorry Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song. I can relate to it so much. The lyrics "Change, the only thing I hate more than you" compliments the beautiful instrumentation played throughout the end of it. |
