maybe you need to get off the lsd......LSDtangerine strawberry fields was a place where lennon went as a kid it was an orphange or sumtin like that, to get away from his troubles he might have been on heroin but this song is not about it.....get your facts straight......if you knew anything about lennon or the beatles....you would know lennon hated people who analyzed and looked into his lyrics obsessivley....which he wrote the song "Glass onion" for, people like you that sit around, drop 6 hits of acid and think every song is about drugs....i feel sorry for you........bud. |

you sure??? cuz i read about 30 books on the beatles and their solo careers and the only thing in every one of those books and on the anthologies they said lennon did was acid and weed....and he admitted to it, not even a mention of heroin and lennon was never afraid to admit he was on acid and weed, ive looked everywhere to see and nothing....and i read in one of the books that lennon was quiting drinking and facing other personal problems not related to drugs but who knows...ya never know |

In response to your post ^ many of their famous songs were indeed written by Paul, Hey Jude, Yesterday, Let it Be, Long and winding road, and there are many many more he wrote which are famous but ill take up to much space typing them out , Paul and John wrote most of the songs....and it wasnt until the beatles later years that George really became reconized for his great song writing ability..but all in all john and paul were the creating force behind the beatles. Paul also wrote the middle part to A Day in The life. |

As a beatle maniac, this song is one of the most beutiful written songs by the beatles. This epic song puts both john lennon's writing styles and paul mcarteny's writing styles in the same song which makes it genious and amazing. as for what it means i think it means that bad news sells and good news gets the back page of paper too much.. in the first verse "the news was rather sad" then"a crowd of people stood and stared" was how everyone was interested in the bad news. but in the second verse "the english army had just won the war" then "a crowd of people turned away" means no one was interested in the happy news.... there are other meanings but thats just my take of it.. |
