| i'm not claiming to know a lot about Chevelles past, but just because a band is made up of christians, and some of their songs have some christian overtones, doesn't necessarily make them a "Christian Band", and if you interpret the lyrics of "Breach Birth" as breaking molds such as classification of music, then you'd start to wonder if Chevelle would ever consider themselves a "Christian Band" ... or any other type of band for that matter, they are Chevelle they write and play great music end of story | |

Figured I'd add my two cents in. A few people have mentioned that most people attributing this song to anti-bush is totally because of the mindset. Nothing about this song has Bush written on it. I think this song is completely about the media, tv, and the facade people show on tv. The first verse is obiously someone getting ready to go on tv Take a bow Pack on powder Wash 'em out with buzzing lights Pay an audience to care Impress me personality The next part, from what i see is about the "electric sheep" (as some ppl mention is alluding to "do androids dream of electric sheep") being television viewers. They watch you from the comfort of your home, and if you have that "impress me personality" then the electric sheep will dream of you. Also the second time this verse is sung, he says "the electric sheep are dreaming up your fate"... Meaning that everything you do is dependant on how socieity sees you. The very last part says The foundation is canyoning Fault lines should be worn with pride I hate to say it You're so much more You're so much more Endearing with the sound turned off. This is talking about the facade people give off, the makeup, the false personalities. "fault lines should be worn with pride" is saying you are who you are, you don't need to cover it up with makeup. Brandon says "You're so much more, endearing with the sound turned off". I think this is him saying that with the sond turned off, he can see past some of the falseness and see to the real person, and that they are so much more than the facade they give off. |

| If you read the lyics that were posted from the album, the part that he talks, it describes how bands get started, creating music for fun, then making it bigger, having to deal with record companies and producers "twisting and distorting that which we love".. then money problems start to begin. Its totally a song about the evolution of a band from a simple start to being huge and famous and the problems that arise, and how you may start to lose sight of why you started .. because it was fun. The lines "We play the blaming game, yes I mind, its not your turn" I think is sort of a line from the band to the executive types, saying no this is our time, let us write OUR music. | |

going back to the mosh pit idea, and someone mentioned the line was "this prehistoric dance" .. making the lyrics Learn from this Prehistoric dance and Refrain from talking Solves our problems to me at least, its a song about violence/rage. "refrain from talking" or in other words physical means of solving our problems. I think this song does fit with the mosh pit idea being the "prehistoric dance" .. not prehistoric as in its an old dance.. but something you would picture a group of prehistoric men doing to handle a dispute. |

| to everyone who says that one opinion is right or wrong.. remember any other tool or apc song.. they always have more than one meaning. On this one... i see obsessive's idea, but i could see the addiction just cuz it fits with the theme of the album | |
