I've been listening to this song non-stop lately. It's so great. All the way through: music, lyrics, singing, everything.
To me, this song speaks to me on a largely existential level, which is completely awesome for a band to be able to convey through music. Many existentialists preached about being "dead in a box". There have been many books, plays, movies, etc. written on it. This song is perfectly translated into someone trying to burst out of that box. To me, it shows someone trying to escape that death in a box to paint their own future, their own world.
The Rembrandt/Solo line is one of the greatest to me. It seems like he's talking about painting his own life, his own future(Rembrandt as my right hand), and soaring above the obsticles of life as a master pilot (Hans Solo...as nerdy as it is) would.
Truly great. I love it. |

This song seems to be about breaking out and becoming your self. . It talks about throwing away all those secrets that everyone has, and living life to its fullest. The whole time he talks about secrets and getting rid of them. The title, I think talks about draining yourself of all these secrets. I.E. The idea of the catheter. |

I would guess that this song is about taking a relationship(maybe even a resumed relationship), and breaking out of the mold that normal relationships follow. If that makes sense. |
