(i dont know why it cut off the rest of my post, so i'll post it again) To me, it's about all the chaos that's in the world today. Expecially with terrorism and the Katrina storm. It's eerie when Raine says "You better swim".. like he predicted the flood. XD. Also, Angels Losing Sleep, to me symbolizes that so many people are dying or suffering that Angels have to work over time to do whatever it is that they do to bring light into this world again. "Just like it's cold before it's warm You'll get back here again" This part is interesting to me. After all the "coldness" there will "warmness", so it kinda means everything will be fine. However, "you'll get back here again" means that we will return to the "coldness" in a never ending cycle.. because the world is just messed like that. I don't know if i'm right. What do you think? |

| Our Lady Peace – Al Genina (Leave The Light On) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| On the DualDisk of the new album and there's a feature called "Making of the Album" or something, ike that. On it, Raine said this song was about (and I'm typing this through what I remember he said, so it may not be entierly correct) his trip(s) overseas. He was just sleeping, and when he woke up at the end of the plane ride, everything was different than from home. "leave a light on for me" means that he may return there one day to help the people there again, because he felt like he was abandoning them. he had to leave because he and Chantal had a son. | |

| This is my favorite song ever. Hence my user name. When I first heard this song, I had no idea what it was about and i didnt even care, i just liked the song. After reading some of these ideas, i only like the song better. I dont relate to the song in the "going through self injury" aspect, but i can realte to the "seeing things in different perspectives". This song is the best. OLP is the best. I can't wait till their new album comes out! | |
