pretty sure about its him being in love with someone who's starting to doubt whether or not she wants to be with him. it's like she's not sure she deserves him and he's trying to tell her otherwise.

i think it's about the woman he was living with herself. probably metaphorically.
the line

is what makes me think so. plus the whole ghost/leaving theme that it has. |

i have the feeling this might be about his growing fame and performing.
it deals with the "every time i turn around somebody falls in love with me" which would be all the groupie type girls..
and the whole "There is something that I must confess to you tonight " line which could just be his confessions through song, on stage.
and i think the whole save your scissors part is about refusing to change himself to better market his work. |

actually.. the almighty Ant himself has spoken of how this song is basically about the time of his life during high school, up until his joining the band.
none of his songs are about god.. he just uses a lot of religious imagery since he was raised Catholic. |

this song basically describes what i just recently went through.. except the girl was my best friend who i fell in love with, but she already had a boyfriend who she wouldn't break up with. but yeah.. this describes it perfectly, and she did love me back but was scared as described by the line "she didn't plan on falling in love, upset the balance she wanted so long" |
