Well i was gonna post what i thought the song meant but all the people discussing how obvious it is that the songs about drugs deterred me. Goes to show that a song can mean whatever you really want, kind of sad that so many people want everything to be drugs, whatev, anyway. I'll admit i thought the sunshine was probably weed, and being useless but not for long probably meant that was lazy while he was high, i sure as hell am, but not for long cause he'll come down. The rest of dels "rant" was the kind of things you think when you're high, eye-opening and whatnot. That said, the high and sunshine could be anything, whatever clears your mind. Or its his ego like that other guy said. Anyways, its not necessarily drug related, and damn i guess i posted what i thought anyway. Also, its DEFINTELY token, while songs dont really require you pronounce every word exactly as youre supposed to, grammar and cohesion are usually nice to have. "gunsmokin righteous with one toke. Actually it does make a lot of sense when applied to sept 11... Broken city sky could be the fact that the twin towers are no longer there, "hello angel tell me where are you tell me where we go from here" could be those affected asking the question Why, and where did morals and decency (the angel) go? "and in this moment we cant close our lids on burning eyes" Everyone hated what happened but the damn videos of it are STILL broadcast.. "It reaches in and tears your flesh apart, as ice cold hands rip into your heart, thats if you've still got one thats left, inside that cave you call a chest, and after seeing what we saw, can we still reclaim our innocence?" Neat, i never thought of it like that orange... works fairly well to me. As much as i want to think he does say "and in saying you loved me makes this harder at best, and at worst changing nothing" he does definitely say "and these words changing nothing." It does make sense, he feels hopeless and knows that the things hes saying(singing) and thinking won't change anything because shes already bitten, using whichever meaning of bitten youd like. Probably my favourite song ever, if there's a song thats more mellow and relaxed while being full of emotion i havnt found it. |
