Eels – Susan's House Lyrics 21 years ago
I've always thought of it as a guy going to his girlfriends house, acknowledging, but not doing anything to help the problems in the world. Why? Because he's going over to susan's house.

Modest Mouse – Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice on Ice, Alright Lyrics 21 years ago
I think the man he's talking about IS god, and that the thing about the narrator's phone ringing is a metaphor for humans taking care of EACHOTHER.

"he said that god takes care of himself
and you of you "
"You" being humans in general, and god being.. not.

Of course the song is open to many interperetations but I like this one best.

Neutral Milk Hotel – Song Against Sex Lyrics 21 years ago
I think you're close, yall. But I have some different ideas on various parts.

I agree with the first verse being about meeting a significant other. I think the fire might be some reference to hell, though.

For verse 2: I've never heard said album, but is it a pretty emo album? He could be saying that his relationship is drawing him to listen to emoish music.

And on verse three:
"
And the last one tore a picture
From the pornographic page
And all the pleasure points attacking
All the looks of love were staged
And it's a lie that you've been given
That just hurts you every day
So why should I lie here naked
When it's just too far away
From anything we could call loving
Any love worth living for"
I think he's talking about masturbation, and the emptiness of it.

and then the last part, about him sleeping outside. He says: "And when I wake up in the morning
I forgot to lock the door
Because with a match that's mean and some gasoline
You won't see me anymore"
I don't think he is burning himself. I think he is burning the house to get back at his now ex-lover. Note the "I forgot to lock the door" line.

Lots of interperetations can be gotten from this.
I noticed that each verse mentions fire atleast once.
1st: Everything is burning.
2nd: Men are burning.
3rd: House is burning.

So obviously the fire means something.
And that's my 2 cents for now.

Starlight Mints – Popsicle Lyrics 21 years ago
I thought i'd just like to add, that there are references to childhood games all over the place in this song, not just jump roping.

"and drop to drop, drop count down the hop"
That one is talking about hop-scotch

"You see we see you must have the key "
I think this is talking about this game I used to play in my elementary school music class. One person would close their eyes and the rest of the class would hide a key in the room. Then while the other person was looking, the calss would sing this wacky song over and over again, and sing louded as they got closer. So that fits best, because they are relying on the calss to help them find the key. You see wee see.

Beep beep!

I think this song is about the fun we had as children, totally careless. It's full of alot of silly but fun to say ryhmes and they mention double-dutch, which is jump roping with two ropes in there.

And this could be wrong but I think the popsicle represents how fleeting those times are, growing up and all, because popsicles melt and the such.

Modest Mouse – Exit Does Not Exist Lyrics 21 years ago
You sound pretty close, dancingbears. It could also be about two people who got themselves drunk and decided to have some fun and take photos. I think that because of the line which says, "You look out of breath, and me like I am faking."
