You're all right and at the same time you're all wrong. It's art, it's whatever you make it. A good artist puts a feeling behind his art and lets you make the meaning. While the song sounds like the end of the world( or just the U.S.) It can have the subtext of pioneers killing and taking the land from the Native Americans. When they started dying out it was certainly the end of their world. A drastic change is always the end of the world for somebody. The fall of capitalism would be the end of the world for the people who this country. So make it about whatever you want. |

THis song reminds me alot of myself, if it means what I think it does anyway. To me it sounds like, especialy in the last verse, that he hates the way the we are sort of forced to talk to each other, make stupid small talk and saying things like "How are you" and "Glad to meet you" when you don't really care how the person is or you're not actually glad to meet someone when you don't even no them. Anyway, that's what it sounds like to me, that he is offending people because he doesn't talk like them. |
