| Weezer – Getchoo Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
River actually let Brian sing "Getchoo" when I saw them on 5/8 in Boston. It was pretty damn cool. I wonder what Brian had to do to be able to have lead vocals. Brian: What must I do to sing this song? Rivers: Bring me a Japanese woman's fetus so I may raise it into a super hot chick. Brian: Um, anything a little more realistic? Rivers: Ok, Ok. Bring me the toenail clipping of a teradactyle. Kidding. I love those guys, whether or not they love each other. =w= bitches. |

Pinko, Bambino, and Whybother737 all have it down. And like everyone else, when i first heard this song, it put me off too. I didn't really pay too much attention to it. (I think it's because we aren't used to this type of sound from Weezer.) See them live, and that will change. I saw them 5/8 in Boston and when they played this song it sounded sick. The drums and the bass felt great...and Scott's gimme gimmie's were a highlight. Anyway, remember when Pinkerton came out? People hated it and tore it apart. Now it's a fucking Weezer must have. Just stop being pretencious and give the cd a listening to. I'm sure none of you could come up with one ounce of what these guys do. Weezer rocks through and through. |

This is one of my favorite tracks off of this cd. Its so close to home. I know exactly how Alex feels in this song. I love listening to his rage when he sings it and the spiteful "HA"s at the end make me laugh. The music of this song is pure genius as well. The way it starts off and those first notes. It's sick. |

| Radiohead – Backdrifts (Honeymoon Is Over) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| You know what I hate? When pretentious bastards come on the site and leave their snotty little "Obviously" and "Duh" comments to make other people feel stupid or lesser than those who claim to "KNOW" what the song is about. To those people, sorry that the rest of us perceive things differently than you. Sorry that some of us like to think about things and, Godforbid, may see two sides of something. Sorry that not everthing is "straightforward" and one dimensional. Some people like to question lyrics or songs or whatever. Keep your arrogant comments to yourselves, because as far as I understood, only Thom knows the meaning/meanings of these songs because, get this, HE WROTE THEM. Or are you going to tell him the "obvious" meanings? | |

| Radiohead – We Suck Young Blood. (Your Time Is Up.) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I totally agree with the people who said this is about Hollywood. I think it's definately about how HW will just exploit and take advantage of young newcomers in order to make a buck. "Are you begging for a break?" -To me, that's refering to all the of the millions of people trying to get into movies/music. Nowadays, people will do almost anything to make it. And before this, he says "Are you hungry," which I thought was pertaining to how much that person wants to become famous. But after reading some of these comments, I think CITIZENERASED and FORTHELOVE said it best. On a lighter note, have any of you ever sang to this song alone in your room or car. It's an awesome song to sing to. I love everything about Thom's voice, esp in this song. Not to sound corny, but you can really feel what he's trying to say. It's like pure anguish. Plus the "oooohs" give me chills sometimes. **And I like the claps too. Definately one of my favorite RH songs. |

| The Blood Brothers – Rats and Rats and Rats for Candy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is such a fucking amazing song. The music is AWESOME to dance or jump around to. The best part is in the middle of the verse: "Candy invites you upstairs to her apartment, you say "it's getting awfully late" and then she sticks onto you," THIS PART IS AWESOME! "her clothes fall off, and she pushes into you. But those rats have chewed a hole straight through." I love anything that Jordan sings...esp here. Anyway, this song is amazing. I know I didn't add to the meaning, but I needed to say something about it. Her navel (yeah!) her nipple! (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.) Oh, Candy! I've got to go! |

| One last thing, I can't wait to play this to some of my friends. Their reactions will be priceless. But I know they'll probably like it after the initial "shock." | |

by SurferRosa on 05-17-2004 @ 03:14:36 AM This song is hot in a very.. different way. I love it. I just FINALLY got the cd and its better than I thought it'd be. It took me like a week to come across this song and when I heard the lyrics, I kinda got hot and bothered! Hello, the way he sings in that deep voice about Michael....that's just sexy. And like countless others said, this song is just so kickass, who cares if he's singing about another guy. The song just gets your leg to thump while your head bobs and hips shake. How can you hate this song? How can you not sing or dance to this song!? You can't deny amazing music. |

| Glassjaw – Stuck Pig Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| He sounds so scary and his voice is so deep in this song. It's fucking sexy. Daryl should have sex (with me) right after he sings this song, cause he'd be all hot and bothered. This song is like foreplay. And thats what the song means to me. | |

| Big D and the Kids Table – LA.X Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| on the surface, the song seems to be about rich snotty kids. however, i read somewhere that its about bands getting big and selling out. they forget where they came from and act self-righteous. i dunno. thats just what i heard. this song is one of my favorites though...and fucking great live. | |
| Phantom Planet – Grip Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
its about how alex falls in love with this girl even though he kinda doesn't want to. he looks at her and she just "breaks" him. but then he says he won't let her hurt him again. then he goes on to say that she's not worth the time and pain that she is causing him. she's taken everything from him and made him feel like crap, so now he's gonna get over it and regain himself so he can meet someone new. but then at the end, i get confused because he says "into your palm i fall..." so did he fall for her again? or is he saying thats what he used to do? anyway, thats just MY take on the song. its my absolute fave PP song. |

| Big D and the Kids Table – queit room Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I saw them and Dave said that it was going to be the last time they performed this song. So i saw the last performance of it. I know this isn't a song meaning, so sue me! | |
| Big D and the Kids Table – Scenester Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about all those fucking loser kids who are into music for the trendiness. Like they are into whatever is POPULAR at the moment. Thats fucking dumb, but I see them at every show. Its wicked funny too because I was at a Big D show and I saw so many trendy fucks singing to this song. I'm like wtf?! He's making fun of you! Sad thing is that most of them don't even know they are scensters. | |
| Big D and the Kids Table – What The Hell Are You Going To Do? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Yesterday, my friend's Dad asked me What are your goals? What are your plans? What THE HELL are you going to do? And I said, "I don't know." gotta be precise! Anyway, these guys rock. This song is the theme song to my life. Its pretty ovbious what its about. Dave is asked what he's gonna do with his life and he doesn't know. I think everyone feels that way. Especially at the end of the adolescent years. |

| Big D and the Kids Table – GLD Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yeah i am proud to be from massachusetts because this! the live show is killer. hope to see them for a 3rd time 4/20/04. | |
| Glassjaw – Convectuoso Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yeah the reason that there are two different lyrics is because there are two songs. The lyrics posted above are the "acoustic" version and the lyrics that the other users have that they posted in this forum are the lyrics to, i guess you can say, the album banned one. And you were off just a few lyrics. | |
| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| actually a friend gave me the meaning for that part, but i agree with you. that makes more sense. thanks for clearing that up. | |
| Glassjaw – Pretty Lush Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Pretty Lush :: First off, the title here is a dead giveaway as to what the song is about. Lush can be another word for drunk, so I figure Daryl is trying to say ' Pretty Drunk '. The song is about a girl Daryl cared for who choose drinking over him.. hence the line "Your sins are killing you and you can bet they'll get me too." Her choice to drink was not only hurting her in the long run, but hurting him as well. Add to that the lines like : "Standing in the rain. Down on your knees As you heave at the drain." Which is probably a girl trying to sober up in the shower [rain] and throwing up from drinking [heave at the drain] Some other lines of note are : You can lead a whore to water and bet she'll drink and follow orders. And I said, "Is this what you wanted?" "Is this what you needed?" I think Daryl is saying, You can lead a girl to drink and then once she's drunk you can get her to do whatever you want. And he's asking her if it's what she was looking for that she never found in him. Don't forget the ending where he says "Only three words come to mind" Those three words being TRUE TIL DEATH, the motto for straight edge kids everywhere. (thanks to glassjaw.net) |

| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song is about Daryl in the hospital. "That burning feeling"- pain he feels "Red liquids. Clear liquids. Blessed are the sick. Children shiver in the river. Where is our god now? " When he says red liquids, I think blood. Clear liquids could be IV bags that they have hooked up to the patients bedpost. Daryls questioning of 'where is god now' is sort of like a question as to why God would let this happen to him. "I'm wasting away. I find time to pine. When pining away my time. Within sin With no redemption We will find our souls and the shells they're kept in all wasted away. " He's "wasting away" from his sickness and just sitting there doing nothing with his time, there's no saving him from this sickness and he's saying over time not only will his body be wasted away. "Demons in demons out. Cry for dawn. Gratis. Bored. I'm the matador of the children's ward" demons might be doctors coming in and out . but i doubt it. its something bad...maybe his angry feelings or thoughts...like he thinks, " i'm gonna die here" and then he kinda pushes that thought out of his head. the "Cry for dawn" is about how he would just lay there in the hospital bed, alone, in absolute silence, in the dark and just pray for dawn to come so that there would be some human contact and something to save him from his own gnawing thoughts and boredom [bored]. and 'I'm the matador of the children's ward'... matador's have red sheets... and Daryl bedsheets turn red when he bleeds "Red sheets. Bed sheets. Boozers. I'm the head fan. Blessed be my bed pan. " Red sheets = blood stained sheets Bed sheets = hospital bed sheets Boozers = Alcoholics in the hospital When he say's "I'm the head fan, blessed be my bed pan" I think he may mean he's somewhat of a hospital celebrity being that he's famous and in a band, so he's kind of worshipped there by the rest of the people [blessed be my bed pan] "THIS IS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ALONE" He's basically saying here, this is what it was like. This is what it's like by yourself, with nobody and nothing in a hospital bed. listen to the song and you'll definately understand the pain. [i got a little help from ebs and someone from the glassjaw.net forum. Thanks!] |

| Glassjaw – Motel of the White Locust Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i'm a die hard GJ fan. (they are AMAZING live) And this is one of my absolute favorite songs. First off, to me its about a girl that cheated on daryl, thus... "Who could ever.. Who the fuck could ever.. Take the place of me?" As in, who could you want instead of me. Thats stating the obvious. But for the most part, the song is about him feeling like shit after someone he cared about basically dicked him over. It sucks even more because i'm guessing it was during the times when he was really sick. But anyway, this song does have some amzing imagery. I'm a chick and I love everything about this song. its not promoting abuse! i'm sure everyone has said at least once, "i wanna kill her/him!" or "i wanna punch that bitch in the face". just cause you said it doesn't mean you do it! so, its not about the abuse (der! thats him expressing hurt. he wants her to feel the way he does...full of PAIN), its about the music and the words. i think you need to hear the song to get it because the way they deliver the music and the way daryl wails with heartache and anger...it makes you feel and understand what daryl was going through. i fucking love that! all in all, this is a kickass song with some fucking great lyrics. if you don't like it, go listen to your simple plan records. GJ's not for you. And that makes me feel real sad because EVERYONE should like gj... |
